    Pumpkin beer

My wort didn't taste dry...there just wasn't as much as I would've liked due to me not adjusting for the pumpkin puree

    Pumpkin beer

Finally bottled this up tonight...tasted alright, needs more spice. Also if you make something with a huge addition of pumpkin, be sure to adjust the water levels. Ended up with only 40 bottles worth when it was all done.

    Thundercookie Gingerbread Stout

Finally got around to brewing this..super easy brew, you do need a few extra things like molasses and vodka to soak the spices and vanilla bean. Both hop additions were added a the start of the boil, so I got to hangout til it was done. Rydrsted the yeast, and this time it started right...

Hey congrats on moving up to 5 Gallons! I actually just brewed up a pumpkin ale and have a post in this section of the forum for the Midwest Supplies pumpkin ale. It is a learning experience for me as well, I took the advice of a number of reviews and just kinda ran with it! For my batch I...

    Midwest Pumpkin Ale

So after about 10 days in the primary, (a bit longer than planned) I just moved things to the secondary. I was considering just keeping it in the primary as it had already been in there for 10 days, but there is just a lot gunk at the bottom due to all the pumpkin that was added along with...

    Pumpkin beer

@Cyclman I think to each their own..I personally think the spices are what make the beer feel like fall..I tripled ky spice dosage, increased pumpkin amount and added a lb of brown sugar

    Pumpkin beer

My yeast had no action for 12 hours...then it took off. It's been 7 days in the primary...Krausen is starting to die down and airlock activity is slowing almost to the point where I'm gonna put it in the secondary

    Thundercookie Gingerbread Stout

Yes vodka or usually any string alcohol has sanitizing properties...the same reason rubbing alcohol is used on wounds before bandaging...to kill any germs

    Thundercookie Gingerbread Stout

Per the instructions you put the spices and chopped vanilla bean in a cup of vodka and let steep til bottling day. On bottling day dump that into the bottling bucket after straining the vanilla bean pieces out

    Keezer/Fermentation Chamber Combo??

Hey fellow brewers, So I recently got a chest freezer as a birthday gift and due to the South Texas heat I have to use it as a fermentation chamber to make my homebrew about 80% of the year. The more I bottle beer, the more I want to start kegging, however I really don't want to have to...

@Fella I used the same kit from Midwest..been in the primary since Friday. Solid amount of activity right now. I also used 45 oz of pumpkin, roasted it in the oven with 8 oz of the included brown sugar. Tripled the pumpkin pie spice, and dumped the remaining brown sugar during the boil...
