Tried a bottle after a week in the bottle. Carbed nicely. Nice head but did not last long. Tastes great. A female friend says it does not taste like beer. She said it was really good.
Thanks for the great recipe BM.

Pre boil gravity was 1.040 and post boil gravity is 1.050. I was excited cause BMs og is 1.039. I split his 5.5 gallon recipe in half. Strike water was 15.8 quarts at 157. Grain temps 67. Going to pitch rehydrated US-05 in the LBK.

Went back to the LBS today. Today is their last day of operation. I got a bunch more hops and 2 pounds of Caramel 40L.
Hops are:
Warrior 15.7% (2 oz)
US Northern Brewer 10.3% (2 oz)
US Tettnang 4.6% (2 oz)
US Hallertau 4.7% (1 oz) So 3 oz on hand
The LBS said I can buy their grain mill next...
I soak my bottles in warm water with vinegar for about 15 minutes. Then I add some baking soda to each bottle. After the fizzing stops; they soak for 10 more minutes before getting rinsed and dunked in a star san solution. I do the same with my LBK. Works like a charm.

Great tips but I need to get another 2.5 gallon fermentor for this to work. I have 5 gallons of a blonde ale in my carboy and 2.5 gallons of Biermuncher's Centennial Blonde going int my LBK today or tomorrow. I still have my 6.5 gallon ale pail but I do not want to put 2.5 gallons in it.

Should be fine. Boat motors used in salt water last for years as long as they are flushed after every use. I know the chiller is not a motor. Also not sure how copper reacts to salt water.
