☕ Coffee ☕: Ingredients, Roasting, Grinding, Brewing, and Tasting

I've tried them all except for the peaberry. My favorite is the natural Lempira. It has a little more depth of flavor than the red honey Lempira. But I mainly drink espresso. They will let you mix it up in 1 pound increments so you should get some of it all. Just order through the "additional...

☕ Coffee ☕: Ingredients, Roasting, Grinding, Brewing, and Tasting

I like this one. I'm using it straight up for espresso shots and cappuccinos. It's also blending well with the Ethiopian, Kenyan, and Honduran I have on hand. It has good body, dark brown sugar, sweet cocoa and a little hint of fruit or berry...

☕ Coffee ☕: Ingredients, Roasting, Grinding, Brewing, and Tasting

Be sure to put a lot of clutch in to it. I stripped the burr off of the shaft on my Hario Mini mill within 2 weeks of adding the cordless drill.

    Tiling coffin keezer top

Yes. It should be in the same area as the grout and thin set. I used it in place of water for both the grout and the thin set.

    Tiling coffin keezer top

In general, the plywood will expand and contract at a different rate as the tile, causing cracks to develop in the grout lines or tiles over time. Having said this, I have tiled over plywood counter tops several times successfully. I added lots of latex to the thin set and grout.

What did I cook this weekend.....

My garlic dried out on day 6 and the humidity dropped. I started adding an oz of water about every other day but I think it would have been better to soak the garlic to re-wet it. Also, my crock pot temp stayed around 170F which I think might be a little on the high side. After checking the...

What did I cook this weekend.....

First attempt to make Black Garlic. 18 heads in a 2 qt crock pot set on warm and 2 weeks cook time. It's as hard as a rock and not fit to be ground up as it has too much char/burnt taste.

☕ Coffee ☕: Ingredients, Roasting, Grinding, Brewing, and Tasting

The natural is very good. I roasted it to the first sound of second crack and rested it for 3 days. Overall it's sweet, fruity and floral with medium-low acidity and medium mouthfeel. I made espresso. I tasted caramel, chocolate, strawberry or peach, and cinnamon.

☕ Coffee ☕: Ingredients, Roasting, Grinding, Brewing, and Tasting

I just roasted up 3oz of each variety I bought. The Icatu roasted the quickest and went from first crack to second rapidly. The Red Bourbon at first and second crack were both lighter colored than any other coffee I've roasted and roasted at the same pace as the Limpera, which is about an...
