Connecting barbed adapter to Cornelius Plug Adapter

I have a Cornelius Plug Adapter-1/4" FFL x 19/32" and wish to connect a 1/4" barbed adapter to it. I have tried both a 1/4" mpt barbed adapter and a 1/4" mfl barbed adapter. The 1/4" mpt threaded adapter will screw in a little but not enough to be secure. Anyone have any ideas on what to use?

    Ferm chamber below 40 degrees

How long have you had it in the fridge? It took 2-3 days for my Igloo to get down to lagering temps, but works fine now.

Attaching a liquid post to randall

I recently received the Deluxe Randall from HomebrewStuff. I want to attach a ball lock liquid post to the output of the housing. Anyone know what fittings I would need? I am a bit confused about the measurements of the threads.

Recommendation on mounting burners on wooden stand

I'm rebuilding my system to a single tier wooden stand. I bought two 12" wind shields from Brewers Hardware and two 10" Hurricane burners. Does anyone have any recommendations on making a support to hold these windshields and burners? I would prefer to use a method that doesnt require welding.

Is 4 lbs honey per gallon too much?

That should put your original gravity around 1.106 which isn't too high. How long has it been since you pitched the yeast? I would add nutrient and engergizer to both. You migth want to watch the pH of the mead with the 5 oranges.

brew hardware weldless sigh glass and thermometer... Anyone have this?

I've been ordering from Brew Hardware for well over a year. Always great products and fast service. Waiting to see what his new design for his rims tube is like to place another order. Maybe you got him confused with Brewer's Hardware? As far as I know they are a great company too, but only...

    Burner Issues

Are you saying using the 11" WC is wrong, or it has a defect? I ordered the same setup last week, and waiting for USPS to deliver it.

Has anyone installed a faucet tower on this? I mainly use mine for lagering, but I am considering added a tower.

    Grainy tasting beer

I had a Belgian Triple and Dubbel turn out very grainy. I'm not 100% positive of what the cause was. But for those two batches I might have over crushed the grain. I do remeber around the time I made those running my drill at full speed to crush the grains. Since then I bought a VSR drill...

Blizzard Nimo may have ruined my brew day

I had been having problems with my propane tank freezing up. Just bought a rubber 20 gallon trash can, cut the top 1/3 off and put the tank in that. I then put room temperature water in the bucket, and ddin't have any problems with the tank freezing.

    Blacksburg, Christiansburg, VPI Water Authority

I never got one from the local water authority, but I did send a sample into Ward Labs. Here is what they sent back: pH 8.3 Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) Est, ppm 100 Electrical Conductivity, mmho/cm 0.17 Cations / Anions, me/L 1.5 / 1.6 ppm Sodium, Na 10 Potassium, K 5 Calcium, Ca 8...

    How long was your break?

I took a break from 1999 to 2009. Mostly from where I lived it wasn't very convenient to brew. But after getting back into the hobby and finding this forum my interest increased greatly. I'm amazed at how much the hobby has progressed in the 10 years I didn't brew.

    What a DISASTER!

I was making a barley wine. I over boiled it and ended up with a gravity much higher than I expected. Worse, when I was draining the boil kettle to the carboy, I decided to put some of the equipment away. I came back and the hose had fallen off. There was at least a gallon of wort on the...
