    Grains all over the floor

Gave Chat GPT the story, and here are the names it came up with. I like a couple of these. Maybe you will one of these funny as well. Hope the rest of your brew day goes better. I am sure the beer will turn out good. Play on the Spill / Floor Grains: Five-Second IPA Garage Floor Session Dusty...

    Ezboil help

You need to rotate the knob further. It will say mode on top and then you have two choices boil, and mash. You will notice in my video I have the yellow light on, and then after I change modes it goes out.

Brewing Rut, how do you deal?

I always used this logic as well, and I made beers that were good and beers that weren't bad, but I would say they were missing something. As I reviewed these beers, they were all similar in style. I started looking into water chemistry I looked at what each mineral did and came up with what I...

First Beer, Stuck at 1.016 SG

Looks like fermentation is done. 2- to 3 point is nothing. Two things to remember the estimated ending gravity is just that an estimate, not what your actual will be. Also your measuring tools are probably not lab grade. Whether you use a tilt , refractometer, or a hydrometer good chance the...

First Beer, Stuck at 1.016 SG

You are close enough I would not add more yeast. If you were at 1.025 I would add more yeast.

First Beer, Stuck at 1.016 SG

I would let it go util your gravity doesn't change for 3 days straight and then move forward. 1.016 is not that far off from 1.013 so it may be done, but I suspect you will get another point or two if you let it sit.

Help an old dog learn some of the new tricks

I liked my AOI "Mash and Boil". I upgraded because of grain size, batch volume 5 vs 10 gal, and heat up time. I went from 1 deg per min. to 3 -5 deg per min, but at a cost for the 240v system. If you are looking at 240v system AOI keep in mind they are around 2000 watts, and a modular 240...

Help an old dog learn some of the new tricks

They are close very close but are different. Normally with AOI you have a malt pipe, and with BIAB you have a bag. The Malt pipe requires the wort to flow through the grain, even if it channels BAIB does not require this since it can if theory flow around the bag, but in BIAB you can crush much...

Help an old dog learn some of the new tricks

I have gone from AOI to vessels, so I have not tried the BIAB method, but I am certainly there is no difference in quality between the two. Picking one over the other is down to how you want to brew. I love my three vessel, but it doesn’t make any better beer then my AOI. You have to think about...

Process flow with new to me X3 conical and Max2 Glycol chiller

If I was going to do the mod, I would run a cord in to bring power to both controllers and two cords out one for each heater and make all the connections inside the chiller. I wouldn’t go through the effort to make holes for the outlets. It looks nice if done correctly, but easy to do wrong and...

Process flow with new to me X3 conical and Max2 Glycol chiller

My understanding is the icemaster 2 is the same as Kegland G20. Here are the instructions from Kegland, page 10 is a rough drawing https://kegland.com.au/cdn/shop/files/Instruction_Manual_IceMaster_G20.1.pdf?v=11749494607452236454. It's my understanding you have two spade connectors and relay...

Irish red ale LHB all grain

Looking at my notes, I now know where you got the kit, I have made this. It turned out to be a good beer, but it is not an Irish Red. If you look at the reviews for the kit, I believe they say the same thing. If you really want an Irish Red, go with your changes, if you want to try something...

Irish red ale LHB all grain

Traditionally Irish Red’s get their color from Roasted Barley. I would be inclined to keep the Barley and drop the Crystal down, to bring your color down, but that depends on if you like the flavor from the crystal malts or roaster barley more. Here is a thread on HBT on Irish Red Ale for you to...

    Ezboil help

Here is a short video of setting boil parameter and getting the controller to run in boil mode. I didn't change any just went through the menu. 1 Long press rotate to boil Program (or as Bobby said you can do the same program in mash Mode) 2 short press to enter mode. Make changes and short...

It sounds like you were setting mash setting, and now want to run them. Once you have entered the mash programs you want, you need to do nothing and let the controller go back to the main menu any input and the controller will think you are not done yet, and then you should be able to click run...

Looking for opinions on my next grill

I like to use my weber kettle for everything. They are reasonable priced. Last forever and are very versatile. I can get high heat, and make a good steak, grill up some tasty burgers, or set it up to go low and slow, and make tender juice pulled pork, or brisket. Only downsides are you have to...
