    dry hopping advice please

PS, do you think one liquid wyeast 1056 will be enough for a 5 gal ferment? Maybe two. I'm using Vinnie's recipe that I found in this forum.

    dry hopping advice please

Hey froth heads, I'm am Aussie addicted to American style ales and ipa. (actually I'm presently drinking green flash palate wrecker which I found here in Melbourne!). I have been brewing ag in a bag and kegging with force carb. However, I haven't yet dry hopped. My next brew is a Pliny the elder...

    Beer line and system resistance?

Ok, just when I thought I had my kegging set up and I read about resistance and it's importance. I have a simple setup with 6kg cylinder and regulator. About four foot of beer to ball lock and keg out through about four foot of beer line to simple faucet. How do I balance this?!

    Priming kegs or force carbonation?

Thanks guys, is it ok to have the keg at a slightly higher pressure for the first few days (15), before dropping to 12 psi for another five and serving? I think I'll prime most of my kegs from now on so there is less turnaround time unless I get a split line going from my regulator.

    Priming kegs or force carbonation?

New to kegging. Got my first keg in the kegerator unprimed. Started it on 20psi for 24 hours and dropped it to 15psi. Going to leave it for 2 days then drop it to 12 for five days. It's cold and I have gently moving the fluid around. Sound good? Also, I plan to start priming some kegs as I only...

Making the switch to kegging goodness.

Yeah that's what I mean; priming. So if I prime my keg how much headspace do you need to leave and do you have to keep purging gas from the keg or can you just leave it? Also, what is a general psi for pouring? Thanks mate

Making the switch to kegging goodness.

Thanks and what about secondary fermentation in the keg. If you carb that way is it merely a matter of chilling the keg and setting pressure at 10psi and drauphting as soon as cold?

    Leave the Gas On?

Thanks, and with that manifold can you vary the pressure to each respective keg or would you have to keep them both at 10-12 psi?

    Leave the Gas On?

Does that mean you have to have a split line from your co2 cylinder to be drinking from one keg and carbing another?

Making the switch to kegging goodness.

Yes, set and forget sounds good. Just needs to be ready for Christmas. So fill keg, put in fridge, set to target psi (what should I go for with a simple Pale ale?), wait close to two weeks and drink. Sounds good.

Making the switch to kegging goodness.

Ok, just bought 4 corny kegs fridge with inbuilt door tap and co2 tank with reg. New to kegging. Am I best to do secondary ferment in kegs or force carbonate? How long before I can drink? I have a couple of brews ready in primary fermenters. Is cleaning the corney keg just a matter of swishing...

    New to kegging.

Ok so that's for secondary ferment in the keg. I guess why I'm asking about if forced carbonation. Using gas rather than second fement. Is this ok? What re the differences?

    New to kegging.

I'm pumped. Picking up 4 19 L kegs and fridge with built-in tap, 6kg CO2 cylinder and everything required for kegging (supposedly) this Wednesday. God bless eBay. Been bottling for a while and know that ales improve with bottle conditioning. How does it work with kegging? After primary ferment...

    No chill question.

Thanks guys, yeah I'm Aussie and new to ag brewing. So my plastic 30L fermenter wont take the heat, is that the reason i can't dump the wort straight into that for 24 hours before pitching? I am using a cube as the intermediary but seems like a waste of time if I can dump straight into the...

    No chill question.

Why do you have to transfer the wort to another container to reduce the temperature (overnight) before transferring to fermenter and pitching yeast? Can you just pour into fermenter, close lid, wait for desired temp, open and pitch? Had a spillage disaster yesterday with the former method, mAde...
