    Tasted my first AG batch!

    Tasting that first all-grain brew makes it all worth it, doesn't it? All that worry about the mysteries of the all grain process that at one time seemed sooooo complicated, no is just second nature. I'm glad you got a brew you can be proud of.

    Festbier Bee Cave Brewery Oktoberfest Ale

    I brewed this Saturday 8/14/10 used Notty as the temps here in east Chula vista (San Diego) are a little on the warm side. Had 1.060 into the fermenter, Beersmith gave me 67% eff. Looks to be a great beer. Like they say, "the waiting is the hardest part"! Danke Ed!!

    I just tried my first batch of this beer. Some of the best damm beer I've had! Ya ought to be be proud Ed, far as know almost 4,000 gallons of this beer has been brewed. I'm going to have to work at keeping this beer on hand.

    How do YOU avoid hydrometer reading losses?

    After I pitch the yeast, I draw of a 12 ounce sample and put in a brown beer bottle. When I want to check fermentation, there it is. Need to check the gravity There is your sample. No waste, it is all accounted for. It works for me YMMV.

    First all grain in the bag!

    Not trying to hijack your thread, but I also just completed my first AG batch with EdWorts Haus Ale as well. With all the reading and watching BobbyM's vids on youtube I was was ready to rock. It was easier than extract brewing, go figure! Thanks to all. I'll keep you posted.
