What came in the mail for you today?

Wow. Talk about nostalgia! Wasn't aware any of those were still in existence. I've never seen one in real life but remember reading about them ages ago. I always wondered how they kept the wooden bung from shooting out like a middle.

What I did for beer today

😂😂😂. Cool. All well and good except Russians are not makers of Imperial stout. Just drinkers. Historically it's a British creation. We have the Princess of Prussia later to become Empress of Russia , Catherine the Great , to thank for having a fondness of extra strong British stouts in her...

What I did for beer today

Sniffed the airlock on the British Honey Brown ale. Bubbling happily away! Smells wonderful ! In 2 weeks I'll add a pound of Orange blossom honey. A bit worried about the temp. I usually stick all my ales in my freezing basement storage room. I prefer to ferment ales on the cool side. Temp was...

What I did for beer today

I discovered today with the Max Burton if you leave the top off the pot it takes much longer to reach boil. Took the top off and had the hop spider hooked on and left the pot spoon in and the temp dropped about 10° from 212 to 202. After 60 min 1st hop, put the lid on and within 10 min it was...

What I did for beer today

Yeah Baby it's on ! Just allow yourself an extra 45-60 min to reach boil temp if you have a lowly 1800 watt induction like me but it works !

What came in the mail for you today?

My 1.4 gal siphonless Little Big Mouth Bubbler for mad scientist brew Experiments. And for just bottling 1 gallon batches instead of kegging all the time. Have not bottled much in 3 years. Tons of glass and PET bottles feeling left out and forgotten.

What I did for beer today

Got a notice from UPS, my order is arriving tomorrow 24th. So 9 days in all, not a bad deal. I'm used to an average of 10-14 days for most out of state orders so not bad.

What came in the mail for you today?

Actually they can say it's not expired. It only has a Best By date, not an expired date. Nasty little way companies get over.

What I did for beer today

I'll see how this transaction goes. Like I said my 1st time with Midwestern. Have not ordered anything from Northern in about 2 years so maybe they have changed. I hope not , they have been my go to company for my stainless gear and an occasional recipe kit for about the same amount of time as...

Toasted Oak instead of wood..😂! So, you're an aristocrat! I'm not offended, half the kings and queens in history started out in my barbarian class !!

What I did for beer today

My 1st time ordering from Midwest. I've used Northern Brewers at least 10 years never a problem. To each his own. Besides with the way things are in this age of COVID, trucking driver and worker shortages everywhere, any order arriving on time is basically a crap shoot and luck !!

What I did for beer today

Have not ordered anything in awhile so since Northern Brewer and Midwest supplies keep tempting me with irresistible 20% off emails, I went ahead and ordered a 1.4 gallon PET siphonless Big Mouth Bubbler fermenter so I can start doing mad fermentatinalist taste experiments with wood and spices...
