    Pliny Substitute

Fresh Ithaca Flower Power is really damn good. You can get that in the Philly area. They had it at Capones the day they released some Pliny. I enjoyed the Flower Power much more than the Pliny. The keg was really fresh!

    Drinking My Yeast

Somewhat related topic: Can yeast survive the low pH in the stomach? What's the gas from - dead yeast or active yeast in your intestines? If it can survive low pH, is star san even effective? I too drank a lot of yeast over the weekend and I'm suffering. I nearly knocked myself out in my...

Bought a Food Saver... Now what do I need?

Grain storage - Life Latch Ultimate Pail

This is going to sound bad, but how big is your sack? I tried putting a 55lb bag of milled Maris otter and it didn't even come close. I only bought it milled because I'm waiting until Christmas for a mill. I'll use it pretty quickly.

    maple syrup priming mistake

Today, I bottled a black hop ale, a.k.a black ipa, but we won't get in to that :-) Last second, I decided to prime with maple syrup. I've done it before with 3/4 cup in 5 gallons and had pretty good luck, I'd say medium carbonation. I did the same today, but forgot that I only had 4 gallons of...
