Ok, so should I let it sit flat for those two weeks or should I force-carbonate it and then leave it in the keg for two weeks?

Ok, cool. What does lactose add to the beer?

I made the northern brewer Breakfast Stout kit a few days ago. One of the ingredients was a pound of lactose which I added at boil time. I then noticed it was listed in the fermentables section of the recipe. Was I supposed to add that before my rests?
