    Panel Repair burned out main.

This is what I was hoping. I was a little surprised to see both the breaker and the main outlet burned out, but the din rail and the contactor in between those components was spared. Ill order the breaker and rewire trying to find the right one on amazon so i can get it sooner than later...

    Brewbuilt IceMaster Max 4

ours arrived with a bad probe. a bad probe mean the thing beeps constantly and loudly at that even if that controller is off. More beer attempted to be helpful but they are out of stock on probes, which meant they had to send a whole new unit from CA to FL. I took the probe home and soldered...

Keezer build - opinions from those who've built a new lid

Ive tried both methods and while I hate dodging shanks and tailpieces while im pulling a keg out I think the collar on the fridge is still the better way to go from a ease of use perspective. Im in FL and have my keezer in the garage. I had a lot more cycling and temperature issues with the...

    Panel Repair burned out main.

I reached out to ebrewsupply but havent heard back yet and figured I would try to source some help here. Panel has run flawlessly for 4.5 years, Friday I smelled some plastic melting as I was coming to a boil and found my panel was about to go poof... Main supply outlet is fused to the cable...

    English IPA carbonation level

I personally would keep your carbonation levels normal. I find that many of the traditional english hops they tend to be less bright and more herbal carbonation in general helps these hops pop a bit more inline with the aromatics you would expect in a ipa. Albeit more earthy herbal then citrus...

70% Isopropyl Alcohol vs Starsan for sanitizing

We use both PAA and Iso at the brewery. PAA is similar to star san in some regards and we use the Iso to flame ports and valves before collecting or transferring.

Using a Spike coil with SS Brewtech Unitank.

Have you asked them directly? I damaged one of the brew bucket coils which they dont sell separate either. I told them I dropped it and they created a invoice with a replacement for me.

    Back to using bags

You can build this from amazon and vac motion for about $45. You want the red screen for hoppy beers. Using these and the racking arm at 3 or 9 o’clock dumping often isn’t even necessary.

    using gelatin

pretty much what I do or ill fill a sight glass if not using the bouncer Be careful of heat with the bouncer 150 ish should be fine but if you boil you need to let it cool before putting it in for sure or it will melt.

    Pilsner using Kveik

Saying any Kviek strain is "clean" is really a misleading statement to a lot of people. Kviek strains generally are from the off flavors related to poor fermentation temperature control and that is what I believe people are referring to when they catergorize Kviek as "clean." Fusel alcohols in...

    Strawberry problems?

Brett actually seems to increase the plastic notes. There has been a fair amount of discussion on this over on the milk the funk site. Popular theories are the seeds carry a polyphenol that expresses as plastic to varying degrees. Underripe white sections of the strawberry are the culprit...

NPT vs Triclamps, Anyone ever go all triclamp and regret it?

Triclamp on the hot side for homebrew isn't worth it in my opinion. I think Bobby makes all the points above. My knockout hose is a jumper hose that is male camlock to a triclamp that I attach to my fermenters. Butterfly valves are really bulky and many require 2 hands to move because the...

    Northern Brewer

They are just letting you know there is never “free shipping”. It’s just a marketing tool. NB and Midwest are the same company with the same products. NB has free shipping Midwest doesn’t. You can see how much free shipping costs by comparing those sites

I have the mason jar brink and don’t care for it. I launched a jar off under about 6 psi.

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

Official statement from spike on the Thermometer for current units. It is a one piece tri clamp gauge and no you can not swap it out for a thermowell. Bummer for anyone buying now.

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

I asked Spike of FB if they switched to a TC thermometer and they said that was a recent change and now the thermowell is included in the TC-100 package. They are checking to see if you can swap it out at purchase.

I assume you got a notification I quoted you. That was an accident and I was replying to Nagorg. On a side note you have officially become the first person I have ignored on HBT. Congrats.
