    DELTA BREWING SYSTEMS GIVEAWAY

Would love a FermTank under the Christmas tree this year!

Suggestions for the equipment $500-$600 range.

I'll second the Craigslist suggestion. Lots of equipment out there. I bought an older Robobrew, multiple fermenters, pots & buckets, ink bird, and a bunch of extras for under $300 about a month ago.

New house - clearance from my wife for brew room - vent or steam condenser

If you are building then a hood for sure. You can always get a condenser later and have both, but it’s harder to do it backwards.

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

Thanks for the info. Looks like mine is a gen 2 with a pump and won't upgrade. No biggie, it's working fine. If it goes, I'll have a new project to figure out!

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

I've got the 8695, but the display board only has 4 buttons not the 8 on the Williams link. What 'version' is this and is it upgradeable?

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

RJ, Could have been, but there was plenty of out flow from the basket when I raised it and there wasnt any water on top of the grain at the time. I think I just had some extra sediment, but I'll make sure to look out for that next time.

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

I got an E3 very soon after I lifted the basket and turned the heat up. I had run the pump to clear anything that got through the filters, but evidently didn't get enough. When I cleaned up, there was a crescent of scorched material just inside the element ring opposite the pump intake. Had...

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

Yes no boil off. Prob had too low a boil, but when I used this kettle for extract my hops boiled over so I kept it a little lower this time. I was planning to sparge with more water but the scorch error threw me off. I added less than 1/2 gallon so not too worried about it. I also forgot to...

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

Ok I was semi successful on my first all grain with the robobrew. Sorry this is long. Dough in was fine. Needed to add in about a gallon to keep the mash stirable. On mash out turned heat up. Turned pump on to grab any grain, but still got a scorch error almost immediately. Shut off to...

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

Brewing my first all grain tomorrow since it is supposed to rain. Bought my robobrew used and ran a couple of extract recipes through it to test the equipment. Keeping it simple, bought an all grain west cost ipa kit from more beer. Looking forward to it.

    NEIPA Bottle Oxidation and alternatives?

Vale - The OP wanted to try a NEIPA and has freaked out about all the oxidation threads on the forum. My point was that he should go ahead and try it. Your post makes my other point about the hobby getting haughty though, so thanks.

    NEIPA Bottle Oxidation and alternatives?

Just started brewing again after about 20 years and this whole oxidation preoccupation is a new phenomenon. I used to extract brew IPAs the old fashion way -> bucket fermenter, rack to carboy, dry hop with a bag, prime in a bottling bucket, bottle in used Sam Adams glass. Beer was perfect in...

    Silly Chiller question

Thanks for the quick replies, will get this set up for my next brew. As far as sanitation, should be good by cleaning the chiller and lines along with the other equipment when finished. As long as it was cleaned & sanitized after use, I'd think running boiling wort through it would take care...

    Silly Chiller question

Back into brewing after a long hiatus. When I was brewing small extract batches, I used to just use an ice bath to cool my wort. Tried an immersion chiller, but never seemed to help enough to mess with since my tap water was warm. So here is my silly thought. Planning to get an electric...

Just brewed for the first time in 20 years

OK, one of the changes I've seen is everyone is worried about oxidation. I don't remember talking about this my last go around. I did an extract IPA brew last week, fermenting in plastic bucket. I am getting ready to rack it into a carboy, with a couple days of dry hopping next week before...

Just brewed for the first time in 20 years

Thanks for the welcome and advice. I've got a couple of buddies with microbreweries, so very familiar with StarSan! After reading dozens of threads, I'll be putting an all in one system like Grainfather or Brewzilla on my Xmas list this year.

Just brewed for the first time in 20 years

Expensive? Well I used to race cars, then I built a basement arcade, so unless I start an actual microbrewery, this will be the cheapest hobby I've participated in. There certainly is more 'stuff' out there than there was in the '90s, and it's great! The internet has made it so accessible...

Just brewed for the first time in 20 years

Greetings from Atlanta! Kids are gone and finally have some time to myself, so I stopped by the local brewers store and pulled out the old kitchen equipment. Forgot how much I liked to cook! Used an old Sierra Nevada extract clone recipe. Looking forward to it.
