Let's see your portable keg setups!

I got a keg cooler and Pluto tap as an early Xmas present. Worked great all week. All I need are some duotight fittings so I can switch sanke and corney kegs out easily. A smaller CO2 tank would be better but we drained 4 sixtels and I didn’t want to run out. Way easier than building...

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

Man this forum is sensitive. I didn’t say anything about other methods. I said if he was worried about PBAs he didn’t need to add one and I run mine fine without it.

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

Guess I’ve been lucky hitting my pre boil pretty close without it. My point was that if someone is really worried about PBA, it isn’t a required modification.

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

Well I guess if you are worried about PBA then don’t get a sight glass. Not sure why one is needed on one of these units.

Mine’s all stainless, where’s the polycarbonate in the process?

Why would a homebrewer have a Brite Tank?

It used to be called a secondary fermenter. :)

Commercial keg and excessive foam with picnic tap

Thx! That looks nice and simple but $35 seems a bit excessive. But I’ll prob do it anyway. Would have been a great stocking stuffer!

Commercial keg and excessive foam with picnic tap

Had to go to Home Depot today for something else. Picked up 20’ of 3/16 tubing and it is working fine now. Thanks. Guess my next project is piecing together real bev hose and QDs so I can swap out my corneys and sankes when on vacation.

Commercial keg and excessive foam with picnic tap

Sorry I meant to say 3/16s but my fingers were numb from standing out here in the cold. Not much I can do at this point I guess except pour slow. Why do they even sell tubing as beverage line if it’s too big?

Commercial keg and excessive foam with picnic tap

Having problems with excessive foam on a keg from a local brewery. We are on vacation and not at home or access to quick delivery. I bought a Pluto picnic tap, 10 feet of 1/4 inch Bevtubing, a keg land d coupler, and a new regulator from more beer. Realize should have purchased 3/8s but too...

    Garage Floor Cushioning

Don’t laugh but I solved this problem with some good Dr Scholls gel work inserts. I am a swim ref and can spend 8 hours standing in the same spot on concrete pool decks. Thought about a small mat but too much hassle carrying it back and forth. $20 and they don’t get in the way of your casters...

    Kegging 101 for newbie

What volume of CO2 is generated by a 5 gallons of fermenting beer. I doubt it is 5 gallons worth, so would the keg be full of CO2?

In search of...West Coast IPA recipe

Thanks ANT. I'll probably just dry hop normally too. I'm new to kegging and getting the kinks worked out. This will be my first pressure fill from a Fermzilla to reduce my O2, and that is enough new variables to deal with this round.

In search of...West Coast IPA recipe

Who has made this, I have a question about the dry hopping schedule - What is the Double flushed keg? Is he referring to cleaning/purging the keg or something else? Do you leave the hop bag in the keg for serving indefinitely? His blog looks a little dated, so thought I'd ask here, TIA.

    Instant chill method

I used ice on extract brews too, made brew day a lot easier. Like the OP, many batches, no infections. The empirical evidence is that is safe an effective for extract brewing. And of course no one uses a dirty bag of ice with holes. Just like any other ingredient, you inspect the packaging...

Suggestions for the equipment $500-$600 range.

I think it is a lot to spend when you don't know if you will like the hobby or will brew enough to 'justify' the spend. I don't really mean justify, I mean not wanting you to regret spending almost $1K when you quit after two or three bad batches. Since you've never brewed before, I'd suggest...

    New To Kegging

First thing to do is check out your local Craigslist, there always seems to be keezers or kegerators. Got my 3 tap kegco with 3 corneys and 2 tanks for $500.

    Older brewers techniques.

Wow, Uline is expensive! Harbor Freight has 2 versions of these, one you can occasionally get for $75/ coupon. I know they are lower quality, but I move 300# pinball machines around with one, so I'm sure they'll work fine for brewing. You can get all the hoses you want, but they aren't...

    Bottling Question

When I bottled, I used a bucket with a spout for gravity feed and to rack the beer out of a primary fermenter. You can skip it if your cider is clear and you have good reflexes. GL
