    Fast Souring - Modern Methods

Yes, I'm on my second time co-souring. So I'm not an expert my any stretch of the imagination. I used the goodbelly probiotic juice which is available at the local grocery stores here (closer than my local homebrew store). It contains only L. Plantarum. As I'm sure you read, an important point...

    Fast Souring - Modern Methods

I know question wasn't directed at me but those capsules look perfect! Only L. Plantarum and 10 bill CFUs. The sour pitch looks good too. I always add fruit to primary in a fine mesh hop bag when I'm a few points above predicted FG (when it's slowing down). I don't think it's necessary to rack...

[Feeler] Any Interest in Digital Tap Lists?

Haha... I almost replied asking if you tried a cursory search for raspberry pints... Since this looked like a rip-off of rpints. Then I realized this thread is 6-7 years old and is rpints origin story

Anyone go from all grain to extract, and how was it?

All of your problems would be solved by switching to BIAB. You wouldn't have those issues with BIAB and your brew day would simpler, faster, cheaper, and less complicated. Here are the steps: 1. Mill grain finely while you heat water to strike temp. 2. Put bag of milled grain into water and...

To squeeze the fruit bag or not?!

Haha. I'm going to steal that line.... Looks like I'll be squeezing the ol' berry bag.

To squeeze the fruit bag or not?!

I recently added a bag of blended raspberries to a sour beer i have fermenting. Added in a large hop bag into the bucket fermenter when primary fermentation was almost done. I was going to give it about a week to ferment out... And wait until SG is stable. I use a tilt (and have a spigot) so i...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Thank you. That worked. I also got fermentrack connected to my tiltbridge again which i haven't been able to do for awhile! I see i should have read a few posts above. Must have missed it!

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

So is fermentrack broken? I tried to upgrade yesterday from within the webpage (through github). I let it run overnight. But fermentrack would not load this AM. I tried reinstalling with the curl command as well as deleting the fermentrack directory and reinstalling. Now i just get gateway times...

    Fast Souring - Modern Methods

Wow! I see the issue. It is my understanding that some of the other species of lactobaccilus are not as sensitive to hops and would then require separate beer line like you said or use the kettle sour method where you boil after souring....will see what Rph says.

    Fast Souring - Modern Methods

I've been using the goodblly juice. It is only L. Plantarum. Have you looked for this? They carry it at the grocery stores here in Midwest... And I'm located relatively in the boonies. Rph had mentioned using capsules that are only l. Plantarum they're listed on the wiki referenced above)...

    Water chemistry calculator

Brewfather app calculates minerals to add for you. It's the best mobil app and most user friendly. I used bru'n water for years. Brewfather gets you the same results 10x faster, tells you exactly what to add, and you don't feel like you have to double check a 100 excel cells to make sure you...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

inspect in the browser is just to preview changes and figure out what need to be changed. Once you find what you like, then you have to open up file and make changes. Now go into your style.css and make those same changes: changing height and width to 180 and 75. One of the editors has line...

    Adventures in Homebrewing (aka Homebrewing.org)

I've been buying from them since 2006 (before they had an internet business). They're awesome. I've since moved across state and still buy from them. I've had a few issues with orders over the years, which they've always corrected ASAP

How long do you drain your sac

I Brewed again 3 days ago. I let the bag just hang over a bucket until i reached boiling. I then put the bag in my bucket and pressed it out with my body weight. I again got 0.5 gallons of wort that i otherwise would have thrown out. i always do a quick wipe down with a soapy sponge and rinse...

    Fast Souring - Modern Methods

For every beer?! Looks like we’re fixing the holes and filling knowledge gaps. I have just been checking mash pH after 15 mins.... but I’m usually targeting (and hitting) 5.3 to 5.4, so I’m probably not too far off. I was able to had a few more mL’s of lactic acid and get the pH down to 5.1.

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Just mount to the side. It’s not going be as efficient with a narrow long tubing. I’m more of a fan of the side mounts: Then can easily add hops without making the lid heavy and awkward for adding hops. You can always cap it off during BIAB if you’re concerned about losing volume. On a...
