If you do steaks, throw in a branding iron for their initials, or something similarly personalized (college logo, etc)... Branding irons can be fun and provide something they might pull out for the occasional grilling party.

St Arnold's (Houston) has a decent IPA... Not as keen on the Rahr (Fort Worth) beers, but that may be personal tastes.
Good places near downtown Dallas to find a quality beer selection are The Gingerman, and Eno's Pizza Tavern.
Homebrew competition hosted by Eno's Pizza Tavern. South Oak Cliff is ghetto, but Bishop Arts and north Oak Cliff are great areas, and the area has large number of homebrewers.

Especially since folks tend to dispense hand pump kegs to the point of zero pressure... You should pump as much air as possible into the keg to try and maintain carb.
