Where are the corny keg deals at?

I just received 2 pin lock kegs from beverage elements for $75 shipped.

Unveiling my brewery & garage build

Nonsense. El Paso is about the only place that needs watering twice a week. Just about anywhere in Texas East of Midland can get away with less often than that.

    Washington DC

Dogfish ale house, or restaurant.... Whatever they call it. There is one on the west side of the river - in Falls Church. I'll post back if I can remember the other joints I have loved.

    Headed to Dallas

Community brewing was recently available on tap at Meddlesome Moth and Common Table. I will second all votes for deep ellum IPA - great IPA. My favorite sources of beer are Eno's Pizza, Meddlesome Moth, Union Bear, and Gingerman (uptown location has nice couches upstairs).

    Stupid kegging question

The first post stated that the kitchen is being remodeled, and this status prohibits use of several items.

    Old ass grains

I would try brewing with the old grain.... If not just to use the free supplies to determine whether the rest of your gear is in working shape. If you get very low efficiency on the mash, or the beer tastes like ass, then it it is time to restock.

vodka is bad for you feet

Double ouch! Better than sticking a drill bit in your toe, you should use a hot paperclip or straight pin. Find a small paperclip, heat it over a flame until the tip is red hot, and press into the nail. It may not penetrate on the first attempt, though you will quickly see that you are...

What the ***** is up with pro brewers and beards???

Doctors wear scrubs when they expect to get dirty... The white coat is more of a status thing.

    Dallas/Fort Worth Group Buy?

I'm interested in 2 bags of 2 row. What is the expected cost for shipping, assuming a full pallet?

    Bug flew in Wort!

Not sure I would even notice a mosquito... I tend to be more concerned with leaves and tree branches.

    One Meat Forever...

Not sure where goat would fall, so I voted wild game since deer would be a close second for me.

    Stainless brewing pots

I was just looking at acemart.com yesterday... Enter "pot" in the search bar, then filter as desired. I am considering a 20 gallon aluminum pot they have listed for $115

    had a gusher, then a bomb... /scared

Chill as many as your fridge will fit (overnight at a minimum), then uncap, let sit for 5-10 minutes and recap. Repeat as necessary.

    AHS Hibiscus Ginger Saison

Wow... Really bringing the old threads back.

    Well, this is gonna suck...

If you both care enough, a year is nothing. Some video chatting, VoIP calls, and maybe a visit or two to Korea should keep the relationship alive long enough for you to visit school. Gotcha beat - after 3 weeks of dating, my (now) wife moved to a different city for a job. Two years later...

Partial mash - grains mashed for too long!

There is a possibility that you might get some astringency from the extended mash... But I doubt it.

    Carb'd wine! Oops

    Sparkling red wine? Sounds interesting.

    St Arnold Brewery tour

Maybe you are mixing up Austin traffic with I-35. I have lived in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston... And Austin had the easiest to avoid traffic. .... On the topic of St. Arnolds - definitely seek out the owner if he is around... Seriously cool guy.

    1 gallon brews

For significantly reduced batches, there will be a decent impact in your hop utilization. This is the main reason why folks commonly recommend using the software to scale... Just be sure you have boil off rates entered correctly. I routinely do 2/3 gal batches in empty 1gal cider jugs for...
