    Wort in Secondary, infection?

Thanks! I wish I waited for your post. I dumped it not wanting the jar to get more nasty. I did not know fermented beer is lightly carbonated. You understood me right about it overflowing. Though bottling other beer never did that for me. Knowledge for the future I guess. Cheers.

    Wort in Secondary, infection?

I wonder if the coffee was too acidic. I brewed coffee and poured it in. I wanted to bottle it but it overflowed on putting priming sugar in.

I have bubbles. Tastes okay. Way to much coffee. But plan on mixing it with another to dilute flavor. What do y'all think?

    How Much Peat Smoked Grain?

My smoked peat ale turned out fine. I used .75 oz and detected no flavor from the mash tun... used 5 lbs of 2 row for a 5 gallon batch. After it finished fermenting I could taste the peat. But if I didn’t know it was smoked I probably wouldn’t guess it. Though I am not experienced with all...

How many times can I use a yeast cake?

Yeah I did another batch on top of the same yeast that gave the strong lemon taste and it turned out fine. Must be some thing else.

How many times can I use a yeast cake?

I have been re using safale us05 for awhile but I usually wash and divide the first batch into 5 and store in jars. I have recently had a weird taste on my beer. Like strong lemon taste. It might be time to dump it. It must be 5 generations old.

The shop I bought it from says to use .75 ounces for a 5 gallon low gravity beer. The stuff he has is really strong.

Greenlee ruined my brew pot, looking at new kettles

I have a similar problem. the onebit drill I used was really dull and I didn't know enough to realize it, and got super hot while drilling. And torqued, creating a crack. Perhaps I just need to flatten the edge? It doesn't start leaking until the water is hot/warm.
