I did this same process to make a spray bottle and had the same thoughts as you. Everything worked out ok. I usually make a 2.5 gallon batch to sanitize buckets, but if making a smaller amount, the steps you took should be fine.

Also getting some white frosting on the leaf tips. Does this indicate anything in particular?

2nd year cascades in OR on backyard bamboo trellis

I have second year Cascades growing vigorously. However some of the lower leaves are starting to shrivel and brown on the edges as you can see in the picture. Is this a nutrient deficiency? Is there anything I should do to remedy this? The plants seem otherwise healthy. Thanks.

Depends on location. I recommend freshops.com but they aren't taking orders til mid-march. I got two cascades from them last year.
