OMG forgot to add priming sugar

You should save up for it. It will make your life so much easier. Think about not having to de-label, clean, sanitize, fill, and cap 40-50 bottles per batch. On top of that, not having to wait for your beer to carb up over 2-6 weeks. Life is good when you keg my friend. I highly recommend it.

    AHBS Hop Bomb

I saw this. I made the Hopfather recipe from Extreme Brewing which rang in at roughly 100 IBUs, and was wondering how a beer would taste that was nearly 3x that hoppy. The thing is, I dont want to create a whole batch for just myself so a friend and I are going in half on it. I am pretty...

OMG forgot to add priming sugar

you should be fine until monday. The only thing you are losing is time to carb, but with no priming sugar it's not like you are carbing currently anyways.

    Samuel Adams Utopia

I had it at a "Beer University" that a local bar held. They basically pick a theme, for instance "American Craft Beers" was the name of this one, and you pay $25 and sample 20 or so 3oz samples of a bunch of different beers that coincide with the theme of the evening and they educate you on the...

    Need help - Tap Identification

I have a 2 tap keezer, but my solution could work for you as well - I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a chalk board and hung it above the keezer on the wall (I think it was like $10). I have it labeled with what's on the "Left" and the "Right" - but you could buy a bigger one and have 4 columns...

    The RDWHAH experiment

Not to sound like a giant prick, but this seems like a pretty stupid idea. This sounds like a giant waste of time, energy, and money just to dump something down the drain, that is of course unless you plan on drinking this train wreck you're trying to create. There are cheaper ways to drink...

How do I get rid of debris in my beer?

My advice at this point is cold crashing (if you can). In the future Irish Moss works well but you need to use it during the boil as opposed to post fermentation. Cold crashing really works wonders.

Homebrew bill passes Oklahoma State House

Honestly, I am not worked up - this is isnt the first day I woke up and realized how backwards this state is. I have lived here since 02. It is life at this point - but can you honestly tell me why I would need a license to do what I do or have been doing every weekend? Let me put it this...

Homebrew bill passes Oklahoma State House

Oh, and passing the homebrew bill is a step forward, but making us have a license to do so is 2 steps back IMHO. Let's take the training wheels off and see what happens folks - the people of Texas are still alive and well.

Homebrew bill passes Oklahoma State House

Being ahead of AL in this discussion is like being the tallest midget (i apologize in advance if there are any dwarf homebrewers out there that I may have just offended). I have not been brewing as long as most of you, am not from OK originally but reside here now, and all of my brewing has...

Best place for a beer in Austin?

I know I may be a little late on this one, but The Draught House is where it is at.

    Hops Survey!!!

After I sat down and figured out how much more I was paying at the LHBS vs Hops Direct - I have never looked back. I mean, dont get me wrong, there are random 1 offs that I need just an oz of this or that, and I will still utilize my LHBS for that, but I can't justify buying all of my hops from...

    24 hrs for a starter?

If I am understanding you correctly, yes to both. When you say "pitch it tomorrow around 4pm" I am guessing you mean pitch the starter into the batch of beer you make tomorrow at around 4pm...is this correct? I have made a starter up and had it sit 48 hrs before as I didnt have the time I...

    The Dilemna: Lager or Ale?

Thanks guys. Lager it is. Again, this forum is priceless.

    The Dilemna: Lager or Ale?

I have never served my beer warmer than the 38* it has always been set on. Am I just being delusional? I think I am searching for someone to tell me the beer in the kegs will be fine - lager away you idiot! With that being said...anyone care to just tell me to go for it?

    The Dilemna: Lager or Ale?

First off, I apologize if this is in the wrong section. I wasnt sure where to post it as it could probably go under multiple headings. I have a rare opportunity to kill 2 birds with one stone on a future brew and I am seeking the advice of yall. For about a year now my brother in law has...

    Hopfather IIPA

Just an update for those of you that still care - I kegged this a few weeks back and it is heavy! I mean that in a great way. If you love hops, I would suggest you make this bad boy. I bottled the other 5 gal last week...theyre obviously not ready yet, but I am glad I made a double batch so I...

    Kegging Options for a tailgate

I appreciate your insight, but more specifically I was looking for the best method of charging the keg (cold vs warm) prior, and if I should transport it in the trash can with ice and or attached to C02, or is this a complete bone head move....

    Kegging Options for a tailgate

Also - I already know/have all of the equipment I will need for this (keg, attachment for the smaller C02 to hook up to a regulator, a regulator, a picnic tap). I am more concerned with the method of carbonating the beer (warm vs cold) etc.
