Oaked Imperial Stout kit - dry hopped?

I recently purchased the True Brew Oaked Imperial Stout kit from my LHS. The owner told me it was his favorite kit by TB so I went with it. As I was picking his brain about it I got a wild hair to dry hop it to add a little bit of a hoppy after taste to the malty/oaky/chocolatey fore taste -...

    Kegerator Recommendations

Have you considered buying a deep freeze? They make relatively small ones - all you need after that is a temperature controller ($60 for analog, $120 for digital) and you have a kegerator with temp options!

How many gallons of homebrew in 2009?

Man - when I'm not on this forum I feel like a bad ass for all the beer I have brewed this year (75 gal), but as I click on this thread I am quickly humbled. You guys are brewing some serious amounts of beer! I am super impressed and super amped for you. I wish I had more time I (or bigger...

Did I get sick from Shock Top?

I did have salad, but so did everyone else. The same salad at that. Thanks Walenutz, I am feeling better already but I feel like I was run over from all the "calling of dinosaurs." Regardless of if it was was the beer or not, I am never drinking that garbage again. It wasnt that good and...

Did I get sick from Shock Top?

Hello all, First let me preface this with my choices were Bud Light, Bud Heavy, or Shock Top...This may be a stupid question, but here it goes: I have been cooped up in my house all day as I was "open at both ends" all night last night. I have ruled out all meals that I had yesterday as the...

    Kegerator questions

You can do a tower setup with a freezer. I did. As for it being aesthetically pleasing there are a lot of people on this site that have gone way above and beyond to make their rigs look like furniture - now whether or not it will be considered "furniture" (or "acceptable" for that matter) by...

    Kegerator questions

Just exactly HOW compact do you need it to be? The Sanyo was what I was going to go with originally but they're either super hard to find, or are expensive as hell - what I did was bought a chest freezer from Lowes for less than I would have paid for the Sanyo and I have room to grow now too...

Dude, be careful - hops are SUPER dangerous for dogs.

Man - 2.5 gallons at a time sounds depressing. I would feel so restricted.

    HELP: Need to name brewery

"Who's didnt" - that's hilarious! Sorry jacksonbrown, but on the others I disagree completely. I thought The Donk was money until I saw Wonderdonk Brewing Co - it's catchy, unique, and 99% your name.

    AHS Fat Tire Clone

Not sure - I personally think it's a good solid likeable beer by both people that appreciate good beer and people who prefer watered down commercial beers. It's just a good "go-to" IMO.

    AHS Fat Tire Clone

I recently purchased (not yet brewed) the Fat Tire clone from Austin Homebrew Supply...I was just curious if anyone has made it before and how close to the real deal it tasted? I know a lot of it will depend on where you are and what your quality of water is - I'm still a little curious. In...

    Using tap water

I have always used our local tap water here in OK to brew and my beer tastes great! I will say that I dont typically drink water from the faucet because we have a filter on our refridgerator's water dispenser. I wish I would have started brewing when I lived in Alaska because the water out of...
