    Let us know how it turns out when you taste it. I have thought about using some oatmeal in a batch for a different flavor just to see.

    First Hefe review and comment please.

    Looking at the list of ingredients; my mouth is watering something fierce. It may not win competitions but I think it will be a winner as far as having a tasty brew goes. Be sure and post the results when you get it finished, I would be very interested in how it tastes.

    24hrs= Zero fermentation activity

    My last batch, I pitched straight from the smack pack and it took about 48 hours to get going. I usually make a starter which gets it going a bit quicker but sometimes signs just don't show up until a day or two into the game anyway. Yeast are funny critters, sometimes they just seem to take...

    Kolsch still fermenting after 7 days...

    Wheat can take a little longer to ferment if it is not mixed with something with a few more nutrients for the yeast. I usually add a little barley dme to the mix to help the yeast along. It may take a bit longer to ferment but I'm sure the results will be well worth the wait.
