    Keezer build questions

Well, Everything worked out so far! I'm still waiting on my project enclosure. It's impossible to find one of an appropriate size here in Canada, so I gotta hop over the border and stop by radioshack sometime this week. Other than that, the keezer is essentially functional. I'm having...

    Keezer build questions

Thanks for the input! I guess if I go with the caulking of the drilled hole then I could feed it through the project box in order to conseal it.

    Keezer build questions

Hey guys, I started building my keezer last week, and it's nearly completion. So far, I've built the base w/ castors, the collar (stained and varnished), spray painted the fridge, drilled the holes for the shanks, attached the freezer lid to the collar, attached weather stripping to the...

    Cheap 13" Drip Tray

What size are your neodymium magnets? I don't want to glue my drip tray either, but these magnets can be very expensive... you guys have it so lucky in the states when it comes to buying things... everything seems to be so much cheaper! I'm looking at a pack of 10-0.3" diameter x 0.11" thick...

    2" castors for keezer?

Hey guys, So I've slowly been piecing together all the loose ends for this project so I can get started, there's just one thing that's really been bothering me. with 4 kegs, the collar, the keezer, and all the other things like CO2 tank and temp control box etc.. I can't see this thing...

    lacto infection?

I guess when you've never really had anything bad happen, even a slight deviation of the normal appearance makes a brewer jump to conclusions! I'll cold crash and rack away this week. Unforunately my basement has been very warm this summer... at about 72F, so this *might* have something to do...

    lacto infection?

I'll take a taste of them when I transfer to the kegs... but the only problem is that I don't have a thief to take a sample. I find it very hard with just a hydrometer and test jar. I guess I'll just rack around it and if it tastes good, who cares?!

Questions about keezer; verifying my builds feasibility

Hey guys! So last week I took my broken POS Danby kegerator in to get looked at as it wasn't cooling at all. Turns out this thing just died straight up in the middle of the night. However, instead of sending me a new one, Danby has (thankfully) refunded my purchase entirely, so now its time to...

    lacto infection?

Hey guys, so it looks like I'm having a few problems with my first few all grain batches. The first one, I believe to have a lactobacillus infection, at least from the searches I've done on here. This beer was in primary for 2 weeks before I transfered to secondary to free up a primary. It is a...

Tower cooling with fan plus copper pipes

I guess you really need to determine the location of those coolant lines... without that theres really no reason to speculate as to where you are going to fit the copper and air lines

    Cooler mash tun manifold... necessary?

 who said a braid was a manifold?
  12. J

Tower cooling with fan plus copper pipes

your calculation for the three holes is incorrect. That is assuming that the three pipes are in one line (inefficient use of space). If you use a triangular method, you are looking at no more than 1.75" Think of it this way: When you form a triangle with the three circles of the same diameter...

    Cooler mash tun manifold... necessary?

Manifolds are definitely not necessary, but if you build the right one, it can be nice. Personally I made one myself for my round cooler, and I like it because I can either batch sparge or fly sparge depending on time restraints. Instead of just putting the screen over the brass nipple, I would...

    All grain - mash temperature?

I agree, that's quite a bit of smoked malt. To answer your question, I'd say 153F-154F just like tre9er said.

Brutus Build - First time to weld

How are those burners mounted? It almost looks like the legs are just straddling the metal bar.

Any really good APA recipe out there?

Edwort's haus pale ale has gotten fantastic reviews on here, and I even saw it as a "top ten best homebrew recipes" somewhere.

Thanks a ton CidahMastah! I'll be sure to try it on tap if I possibly can!

    Keg Force Carbing Methods Illustrated

I know of the brewery, but I haven't actually tried the imperial stout. I'll be sure to grab a six next time I'm in Quebec! Thanks for the recommendation... can't refuse a "best stout I've ever had"! In terms of carbing, I guess I'll just roll it at 30psi for 10 mins, drop the pressure, burp...

    Keg Force Carbing Methods Illustrated

Out of curiosity, how long do you roll and how vigorously do you roll it? How long after does it take for it to meet the volumes of CO2 you want?

    Keg Force Carbing Methods Illustrated

I have never carbed (yet!), but from the point of view of dissolving a gas, it shouldn't make a difference which way you carb it, only the temperature, pressure, and time the gas is applied for. The only thing that is really of concern is that blast carbing it makes it much easier to over-carb...
