Chicken Al Pastor in the smoker tonight. I was happy with the results. So was the family.

It’s Friday, the deck project is completed, it’s sunny and the smoker is going. Why not have some fruit juice tonight?

Yesterday I made a stop at OH at their Canandaigua Lake location to try their collab beers with The Veil and others. Then home brew club night. The ciders I made three years ago are drinking really nice too! Woohoo!

Tonight I roasted three batches of beans from Ethiopia, Peru and Honduras each at 1.76lbs. 161.25 + 5.28 =166.53

Last night we finished getting the new gazebo built and anchored to the new deck. It was a PIA to get the roof panels in place. After weeks of rebuilding the back deck and now the gazebo I pulled out this bottle to share with my father in-law. Great barrel character both on the nose and pallet...

Was there anyone looking to get in last year but was late? We could share this in other threads to see if someone else from HBT wants to join.

Bottled September 2020. Perfect to open to celebrate the deck being completed. Shared with my father in-law who was a tremendous help!!

These after a hard day’s work and then some on the deck to finally finish it today! Next up is the new gazebo. Although it looks like it’s from IKEA based on the number of pieces that goes together with pictures for instructions. 🤣

I’ve been away from HBT for a while with crazy schedules, so I have been behind on posting my coffee roasting. So here it is… 6/21/25 I roasted 1.1 pounds each of Ethiopian and Honduran beans. 7/3/25 I roasted 1.43 pounds each of Indonesia, Peru and Rwanda beans. 7/24/25 I roasted 2.87 pounds...

These tonight at The Richmond (Mortalis’s restaurant). The two on the menu with a black mark I did not order as they were out. Then an Old Fashion at home not pictured.

Life’s been busy. My oldest had surgery a month ago in Philly. So we have been traveling there and back last month for multiple follow ups. All went well, actually better than planned and she’s good now. Been working on rebuilding the back deck and on the road for work the last two weeks too...

I agree these next two months are busy with work and family stuff.
