Need advice on buying brew pot

To be totally honest with you, a 10 gallon pot isn't going to get you much more than a 5 -6 gallon batch anyway. So I think you should totally go for something more "keggle" like. Do as Bad Coffee suggests and search "keggle". You could probably get a complete keggle w/ spigots, sightglass, etc...

LOTS of Low AA hops, added really late...

No need to post twice...seems to be a trend lately.... Throw the beer off? Well, it's going to be different than the original recipe. But will still be beer. Late hop additions can be fun to play around with. Go for it.

Strike water clac with a recirculating MLT

I think you are interpreting "deadspace" incorrectly. Do you have a dip tube under your FB? Dead space isn't the amount under your FB, it's how much liquid is left behind after you've drained all you could. To put another way I have a keggle MLT and also have about 1 gallon of liquid under the...

    sankeys/corneys/brew magic/600 lbs grain (?!) craigslist find

Reading a little about the Lost River Brewery...Only open 6 months and they want out? I wonder what happened???

    sankeys/corneys/brew magic/600 lbs grain (?!) craigslist find

In deed a pilot system. Many commercial breweries will use a Brew Magic or similar homebrew set up. Heck...Sam C from DFH is all over their ads.

    Brewing School

It hasn't been mentioned yet so I will add that a part of the ABG program is a spending a week in either VT or CA (depending on what time you take the courses) at a brewery/lab. You also get placed into an apprenticeship, and they have job placement assistance. You also have weekly webinars...

    Fullsize SUV's

FTW! Unless you're a DIY'er that likes to work on their rig every week and have the time/patience that LR vehicles require for general upkeep. It will spend more time in the shop and you'll be throwing more money at it than is necessary.

Wildwest's brew lean-to (my almost dream build)

In addition to JetSmooth's response...this thread wasn't even started until November of 2009, so I would also agree that there have been updates since 2007.

    First time kegging

God, I'm so lost with this thread....I give up. Everyone else, carry on.... But I will say my CO2 is on at all times. If you have no leaks there is nothing to worry about.

pressure from what? Did you not bottle carb before kegging?

Whats wrong with this pitcher... err, picture?

Funny...and very wide spread. Walk into any chain and take a look at their beer lists. BMC is "domestic" and micros are either "micros" or I've even seen "imports". Nothing new.

    First time kegging

That would make sense if he's just now getting into kegging from bottling... I'd agree with mosquito in this case. Giving away is a better option if you just want to get rid of them. BUT, a word of warning. Even though you're kegging you may still want to bottle from the keg from time to time...

    First time kegging

Of your homebrew?? Are you a licensed brewery from both the state and feds?

Whats wrong with this pitcher... err, picture?

I'm reading that as $8.50. Someone just has a hard time writing "8".

Whats wrong with this pitcher... err, picture?

It's probably so obvious I'm missing it, but what's the issue?

    Portland bound...

Since David mentioned it...we're actually in Milwaukie and not Portland. But if you sent me mail addressed as Portland, OR I'd get it no problem. It's a different county even.

    Removing stickers from cornie kegs

Pure Citrus as mentioned above...or...GOO GONE. Always worked well for me.

    Portland bound...

I'll just put this out there for you...the economy here SUCKS. One of the worst if not the worst unemployment rates in the country (double digits). Just be prepared for that and the possible long wait to find a job. If possible start the job search first if you are serious. Use a friends local...
