Where to buy smaller volume bottles?

Curious...why a bench capper? Are the mouths larger on them?

Where to buy smaller volume bottles?

THIS was my backup plan. Thanks for all the feedback! Not sure I need 100,000 bottles...but I'm willing to negotiate a deal with 1,000 other HBT members. Any takers?

    1st Robust Porter with Questions

I was even considering adding 2 lbs. of Midnight Wheat just to see what it can do!

    1st Robust Porter with Questions

Yep, partial mash. I like my stouts thick, but I like my porters a little on the thinner side. That's why I didn't add any crystal malt.

    1st Robust Porter with Questions

This recipe was born out of my want to try Midnight Wheat. I saw many recipes online, and wanted to see if anyone with experience with Robust Porters could steer me in the right direction. Partial Mash - 5 gallon batch - Mash at 152 - 60 min. boil 3 lbs. Extra Light DME 2 lbs. Munich 2 lbs...

Where to buy smaller volume bottles?

I'm bottling a 12% beer in a couple weeks, and wanted to bottle it in smaller bottles (for obvious reasons). For the LIFE OF ME, I can't find bottles that are 8-10 oz. I thought about using those smaller coke bottles, but they're clear glass and I'm not too keen on that. Any idea where I...

    Increasing alcohol in extract kits

I agree. Grab yourself some bags of malt extract and a couple pounds of your favorite specialty grains - some crystal malts of various levels (10, 40, and 80 would be my choices) and Vienna or Munich might be a good place to start. Creating your own recipes to your own personal taste is the...

    Favorite Hop Schedule for IPAs?

Out of shire OCD habit, I really like a FWH/20/10/5. It depends on the hops I'm using, but this is pretty much my standard. As a side note, I FWH all of my beers. Not exactly sure how the flavor differs from a 60min. addition, but my taste buds know what they like.

    Coors Light Night

Currently drinking some of that bullet. I love drinking home/craft beer, but money is what money is, and I'm no stranger to the watered-down stuff. Like a fellow poster said, there's a certain nostalgia I get from the cheep stuff. Reminds me of the first beer I stole from my dad's fridge when...

    American IPA recipe critique

I think your first recipe would be a GREAT APA, but Yoopers right about the hops. Your revised recipe looks excellent. 2 oz of hops in the last 5 min. is usually what I like to do, and suits my pallet juuuuuuust right. I also like the simple grain bill. Make sure to let us know how it...

    5 gallons of beer + 2.5 gallon oak barrel = ???

Nice explanation beergolf. I have a 11L carboy that I put half my brew into while the other half is in the oak. I like the idea of adding some sugar to the carboy. I was a little worried about oxidation. How quickly does a half filled carboy oxidize?

    5 gallons of beer + 2.5 gallon oak barrel = ???

    I WISH I had that option, but I'm currently...shall we say...between kegs. :(

    5 gallons of beer + 2.5 gallon oak barrel = ???

Has anyone attempted to, or knows anyone who has, done either these before?

    5 gallons of beer + 2.5 gallon oak barrel = ???

My awesome girlfriend gave me a 10L oak barrel, and I'm planing on aging my 12% barleywine in it. The problem is that the barrel will only hold HALF of my brew. I've played with a few ideas on how to remedy this problem, and would like some feedback. 1) Only oak half the beer for a...

WooHoo! My entry fee was finally processed. I was beginning to think they never made it. Anyone new put a beer in? Good luck to everyone involved.

Pretty sure I did it right, but not totally sure. I cut out the labels and put them on the bottles with rubber bands. Then attached a check to whatever else was printed.
