    brewing for my wedding

I did all the beer for my wedding last June. It was a fantastic experience and there's nothing better than hearing people enjoying your beer and talking about how good it is. Even the non-beer drinkers! Are you kegging or bottling? The big problem I ran into was keeping all the bottles...

    Why so much foam?

It was easy for me, no gas would come out of one of the regulator bodies. It was weird, it appeared that one body worked fine, but the other one didn't allow any flow of CO2. The only thing that makes me think that the body that appeared to be "working" might not have been, is the fact that...

    Why so much foam?

I think my regulator was bad. I had a two body regulator from kegconnection, and one of the bodies wasn't working. I just got the replacement today and hooked everything up. Not only do both bodies work now, but my foaming has stopped as well. Thank you all for your help though, it was...

    Why so much foam?

The line and tap are in the fridge and cool. The line is coiled around the top of the keg. I really have no idea what's causing the foaming. I may just have to lower the pressure and see if that helps.

    Why so much foam?

I'm new to kegging, but I've tried to read a ton on this forum before I started doing it. Based on everything I read, it sounded like 10ft of 3/16" house was the best way to go for getting a good pour. I've got an AmberBock that I've carbed for over three weeks using the set and forget...

    Third times the charm

I just finished up my 3rd AG batch, Ed's Kolsch recipe. My first two attempts created good beer, but my efficiency was horrible, around 58%. This time around I tried 5.2 stabilizer and watched my temps a little more closely. Turns out the thermometer I was using before had a loose wire in...

OKAY!!!!! I'm hooked........First batch "Pretty Damn Good"

Same way I started. Mr. Beer is great! It's easy, it produces good beer and it definitely helps you through the learning process. But the above poster is right, it does start to get expensive for the batch size. After awhile you'll realize you can make a 5 gallon batch for almost the same...

    AHS Fat Tire Clone question

I made it last summer. It's an excellent beer, and I only used a primary.

First attempt at AG, feedback welcomed

I just finished brewing my first AG batch. A Mirror Pond Pale Ale clone from AHS. I haven't used BeerSmith before, so I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and plug the recipe into BeerSmith and look at the directions it produced to compare with the AHS directions. They were very...

Group buy for Used 5 Gallon Ball Lock Kegs $25

I would be interested in a few as well, but I think there might need to be some clarification. Do you mean $25 total, or $25 plus what ever shipping would be?

Just got asked to brew for a wedding!

I would suggest a variety. A lot of people there will probably be BMC drinkers. At my wedding I had a American Lager, for those BMC guys, a couple of different Amber beers, a stout, and a wheat. Just remember what you've heard so far, when you think you're done, keep brewing!

Just got asked to brew for a wedding!

I made all the beer for my own wedding last June. Get started early and keep going, when you think you have enough, keep going. I found that people that don't normally drink beer were drinking my homebrew. I served 4 different kinds in bottles. We just filled 4 big tubs with bottles and ice...

Did I mess up my first Lager?

I'm by no means an expert, but I pitched one package of yeast into my lager and it turned out fantastic. In fact, got another one I just racked to secondary today. I would guess that you're fine, let it sit for two weeks or so, but I wouldn't worry about it. Just my 2 cents.
