    need some Love TSS2-2100 help!

Here is a rather old repost. I'm not sure if it will help or not. I have installed a Love TSS2 temperature controller with a TS-61 probe on my fermentation fridge. Because my fermentation fridge is located in an unheated garage I needed the ability to control both cooling and heating. I have...

    Rain barrel recycler

I catch my chiller waste water in a number of 5 gallon buckets so they are easy to carry to the garden.

Nursing Pot size for 1st year

I had a cascade in a 5 gallon pot last season that I started late as a cutting. The pot had several drain holes and the roots grew out the drain holes and the bine reached about 13ft. high and produced well. At the end of the season I was able to cut the roots that had grown through the pot...

    From Keg to Bottle

I would pull the relief valve to vent the keg and then unscrew the output fitting and give it a good look over. If that's not the problem pull the dip tube. Most likely it's clogged at the bottom. Sanitize the parts and re-assemble. Your beer does not have to leave the safety of the keg.

    minimum height ?

The worst thing is you might have to train the hops to follow the fence. Once or twice a week if the lead bine is trying to head straight up, gently tie or weave it through the fence to keep it growing along the fence. On the good side you will be able to easily pick the hops as they ripen...

    Pneumatic Capper

It's a good thing you have your stroke limited. A 3" cylinder at 80psi is about 565 pounds of force. With that power I bet you could find a weak bottle once in a while. Do you have a flow control on it or is it coming down ka-pow? How cool would it be to have something in your brew room...

    NanoBrewery build

So, you've had your first tasting does that mean you are you fully approved for your retail tastings? I'm still waiting to hear that you're adding onto your building to make room for your big equipment in storage to keep up with demand.

    Pneumatic Capper

Since you did not say the size of your cylinder I cannot suggest a pressure so you get to do the math... In my tests it has taken about 160-165 pounds of force at the peak and then drops to about 110-120 pounds for final closure. Keep an eye on the amount of flex in your cylinder mount. If it...

    HOPS growing in basement

By bringing them inside the warm temps in your basement tricked them into thinking that it's spring. I would try and get the bines to go dormant unless you are able to provide enough light for them to grow proper. They can live for a while on the energy they have stored but it will not last...

    Water Advice Please

Can I determine bicarbonate from my water test? I am confused because even Palmer's webpage about how to read a water test. His sample test does not include bicarbonate but he talkes about it just like any other element of the test.

    Water Advice Please

I have been using 5.2 in my mash. Would I discontiue it's use if adjusting my water chemistry? The common salt and epsom salt should be easy to find locally and I assume calcium sulfate is just gypsum. Do you think I should add individual chemicals to my mash or use a all-in-one like Burton...

    Water Advice Please

I have just received my water test results from the state. The results are for my untreaded water. I have a water softener but so far I have been brewing with un-softened water. Does anyone have any advice? All results are mg/liter except for PH. Total Alkalinity 197 mg/l Floride...

Spray painting my brew cart. Need help

I assume your cart is made of steel. Did you use a primer? Did you follow the instructions on the can for your top coats? Some paints require that you apply the next coat within 2 hours or wait at least two days. If the second coats are applied at the wrong time it can cause the previous...

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

Basically a volume of CO2 is how much gas is dissolved in the beer. Think of it like a bottle of beer may contain 2.5 bottles worth of CO2 in the beer. One part beer and 2.5 parts CO2.

    My Ghetto Barley Crusher

Well I finally used up most of my crushed grain and ready to crush my own and... it did not work. I dumped the grain into the hopper and nothing. The grain would not feed into the two upper rollers. I have a machine shop and checked over the Monster Mill and everything said the mill was good...

    Help wiring a Love Controller

Sorry it took so long. I've been out of town. As samc pointed out I do not have the minimum stop time programmed. When summer comes back around I may program 5 or 10 minutes relay stop time or increase the r1 and r2 values if I notice the fridge cycling on/off too frequently.

    Help wiring a Love Controller

The instructions for programming the Love leave a bit to be desired so here is what I did. I have my controller set to hold the temp between 68 and 69. The heat or fridge turn on when the temperature goes .1f above or below the set range. I have a one degree dead zone to prevent the heat...

    Help wiring a Love Controller

Here is what I did using a Love TSS2 with a TS-61 temperature probe. I bought two extension cords to provide the wire and plugs & receptacles. I left about 6ft of cord attached to the female receptacles into which I plug my fridge and heater (40w heating pad). The male end of the extension...

would this work? steel workbench for brewstand

I imagine it would work. I think the height might be the only issue if you build up from the bench surface. The bench top is already 35" so by the time you add burners and your keggles their tops will be a bit high.
