Man, Corky, that looks delectable. A nice glass of red wine and I'd be a happy camper!

Holy cow, Andrew, you must've been feeding an army! Looks delicious.

What did I cook this weekend.....

Good to know you've tried/liked the Watkins, BY. I'll have to come up with some "brown" - maybe a dash of browned butter? Not sure how much that would change the flavor. Kitchen Bouquet would work great but probably not lend a very "root beer-y" flavor to the ice cream, LOL! Boy that pasta...

I'll probably try this, it has good ratings anyway.... Watkins https://a.co/d/c72mAkj

What did I cook this weekend.....

That's a shame, @BongoYodeler! Thanks for the heads up though. I'll see if there are any other choices out there. @VApatriot that pie is a thing of beauty!

LOL at you two! Sounds divine. My husband asks me to make vanilla. I'm like - but WHY? HA HA! I'll have to see if I can come up with some of that root beer extract. Thank you! (vanilla is actually good, if you put something else on it - last night I added a dash of SF pancake syrup. Good!)

What did I cook this weekend.....

Mmmmm, root beer ice cream! Recipe please? I made keto vanilla ice cream in my Cuisinart 2 quart ice cream maker yesterday. I've had that thing over 6 years, I bet I've easily made more than 100 batches of ice cream, and it just keeps goin' on strong! Merry, those pretzel rolls are so pretty!

What did I cook this weekend.....

We grilled two nice thick Porterhouse steaks, and I made fauxtater salad, which is just potato salad made with steamed cauliflower cut into small florets instead of potatoes. We like it just as well. Got enough steak left over to make steak salads tonight - mine will have bleu cheese on it...

What did I cook this weekend.....

Corky, good for your grandson for knowing what he likes and good on YOU to cook it that way for him! My Dad ALWAYS overcooked my steak even though I'd stand there and tell him, "Please take it off now, Dad!" he wouldn't do it, he'd say "It's still mooing!" LOL! I'm 70 now and I STILL like my...

What did I cook this weekend.....

That's where we buy ours. Good prices and nice-looking ribs. Yeah, the membrane is actually good collagen for your gut. When it's rendered out and a bit crispy it's just good eating IMHO!

What did I cook this weekend.....

We've been doing our ribs exactly that way. Buy spares, cut off the flap, leave on the membrane, season lightly, smoke, finish in the grill on indirect heat at 250* with the lid shut or in the oven. Dayum tasty stuff! Your menu sounds perfect.

What did I cook this weekend.....

HA HA! You thought I forgot! Boy it was good, too. I might add some artichoke hearts next time....

What did I cook this weekend.....

I have a sheet pan of oven-roasted Greek chicken thighs in the oven. Lemon, garlic (lots!), salt, pepper, Greek oregano, Greek olive oil. When they have 20 minutes left I'll add cubed feta, halved Kalamata olives, and snipped oil-packed seasoned sundried tomatoes. I'll TRY to remember to take...

Man we do love us some chiles rellenos around this house! :). Looks really good.

What did I cook this weekend.....

My theory is that if you eat according to whatever your plan is (we do ketovore) 90 to 95% of the time, you can get away with an occasional meal off-plan like that. Works for me anyway.

What did I cook this weekend.....

Oh boy, Merry, that would be right up my alley if I were to go off my eating plan for one meal! :)

What did I cook this weekend.....

I gave up on tomahawks after the first couple - you end up paying so much for all that heavy bone! Just a regular bone-in rib steak, or a ribeye, are my preference and dry-aged when I can get them! Been buying grassfed/grass-finished Piedmontese beef when I can get it. So delicious and SO...

What did I cook this weekend.....

Yeah, cattle ranchers are not generally very fond of sheep! :) I love the stuff though. We have a nice source of grassfed beef grown just down the road from us here; I also buy Piedmontese beef (grass-fed/finished) online. I can get non-soy-fed chickens and we've bought half a pig in the...

What did I cook this weekend.....

Not sure where you live but if you have either Costco or Sam's Club nearby, I've bought beautiful thick lamb chops from both of them. I have one or two online sources too, if you don't have a local place to pick them up. I can post links if you need them!
