    No pic, so didn't happen BUT we scored some heavily-marbled, Korean-cut beef short ribs at Sam's this week. I put them in an Asian-inspired marinade for 4 hours, then grilled 4 minutes each side on the Weber gas grill. OH MAN! KOTC kept saying how good they were. If we see ribs like that at...

    I'm prepping for this crazy hurricane Hilary which is headed up the coast of CA - we're getting bands of moisture from it bringing thunderstorms and lots of rain. So I am cooking things up ahead in case we lose power. Just finished 3 pounds of bacon and a quiche with ham/bacon/Ortega...

    Just made homemade mayo which contains some of our homemade yogurt so that it will ferment - that extends the refrigerated shelf life considerably! It's super thick and really tasty. Made just shy of a quart.

    We bought one of those kits for oyster mushrooms one time when we lived at the coast. It worked fine but was kind of pricey. However, we have no basement here and no way to keep one happy in our single-digit humidity here in the desert. It was fun to watch them grow though!

    We have no chance in hell of finding mushrooms here in the land of low humidity, LOL! Best we can hope for is that Safeway has some oyster mushrooms occasionally.... I just downloaded this recipe for sheet pan Greek chicken that looks awesome in case anyone is interested. I'll probably skip...

    LOL about the broccoli, Merry! It's been bloody hot here - 120* yesterday - more of same coming. So it's either been eating out or making a big salad with a protein on it. I'm gonna grill some marinated skirt steaks on the Weber gas grill early today. Will slice up for steak salad later...

    We have a big ol' 6 burner Weber gas grill which we bought in 2009. It's now been moved several times but today is the inaugural running of the rotisserie with a nice plump chicken on it! If I can remember to take pictures - I will post them later.

    Oh great, @bleme - I'll have to try that. I love my air fryer. Told KOTC last night it's one of the best kitchen gadgets I own - and I have quite a few from which to choose! :)

    Pig shots. They tasted good but were not worth the 40 minutes of making them and then 30 minutes of the air fryer, IMHO. I'd give them a solid c+ but if I'm going to put that much effort into something, I'd prefer bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers.
