    Brew-Boss Opinions

Thought i'd piggy back this thread with an opinion question. Anyone ever attempt to use their COFI as a hop spider? I made my first NEIPA a week or so back and had a massive mess on my hands. Swirl boss clogged, counter flow clogged, yada, yada. I ended up having to siphon 150 degree wort...

Subtle Dry Hopping of a Lager

I honestly don’t make many lagers beyond an annual Marzen. I had that Jacks Abbey Citra Brau and loved it. I’m curious though on the differences in malts as I have no real lager brewing experience to draw from. I see a lot of recipes that have 2 row and then a lot with Pilsen, so am curious...

Subtle Dry Hopping of a Lager

I’ll chime in as I’m also planning a dry hopped lager as my next brew. I haven’t finalized my recipe yet, but whatever it is will have 4 ounces of Citra whole cone hops added 3 days before kegging. I had the Citra Brau from Jacks Abbey and wanna see if I can replicate it. Question on your...

    Florida Colorado Brewing Nano System

Stand may be sold separately. Have a potentially interested buyer that may want system shipped, but obviously stand is too big. Anyone else have interest in the stand/hoist setup? Also anyone wager a guess what that piece is worth by itself?

    Make IPA Clear Again

That is some good beer right there my friend. My favorite that they produce !!! Don’t care in the least what it looks like, just what it tastes like !!!

    ITap bottle filler

That looks cool and would love to see more how it works to purge o2 and top with CO2. Seems a bit slower per bottle than a beer gun, but that’s still ok by me as I usually only want to bottle off a few from the tap for friends or when going places. If you do get one post up a review as I’d...

    UK Trip

Here's a good one for you in London if you also need some brewing books...... Wife took me to a play while we there, and decided to get a beer and some fish & chips at one of the many pubs near there before the show. Turns out this place "The Crown" is on Brewer's Street (right next to the...

    Yeast starter ?

I know this isn't anwering the OP question, but see others referencing them. The new Proper Starter cans from Omega are awesome. Literally go from popping the can to a spinning stirplate, in about 3 minutes. Plus they make for great order add-ons when trying to get free shipping on MoreBeer...

    UK Trip

I second the Bermondsey Beer Mile. Just returned from London on Tuesday, and hit a few of those places over the weekend. Odd note about most of those places was that they closed fairly early (i think it was like 5 or 6PM) each day. Cloudwater was especially good. 73 Enid St and sandwiched...

    Brew-Boss Opinions

Usually hit about 80 - 82% Mash efficiency, and BH efficiency usually lands around 69%. I'm ok with my numbers now as i can typically hit consistent amounts from batch to batch. I've just started getting into water profiles, so am closely monitoring to see what that changes.

What book is on your nightstand? Readers!

I’d hit a readers block lately where nothing was interesting me enough to hold my attention. Found this the other day at the library and have started making a nice list of the next 15-20 books I’m gonna read. Nice synopsis on certain books and even recommends other titles if you liked a certain...

Just picked one of these up from Sam’s Club tonight. Has a full gamma seal lid and looks to be airtight. May get another as these seem to stack fine.

Single Hop Experiment kits - $14-18 at Amazon

Any one else notice when these cheap prices they slowly creep down as the units sell/days go on? Red Ale extract was 16.85 on 19th, then I saw it yesterday at 15.92 and today it’s 15.27. Wondering if they are reducing as they hit an age date ?? Either way, great deals to be had.

    Make IPA Clear Again

This is so correct. It’s being shown that some of the ingredients and certain yeasts are being used to extract maximum hop flavor which is exactly what I think most like. I get that the aesthetics can trick the mind into thinking it’s thick or chewy. I’ve had quite a few NEIPAs and a lot of...

NEIPA - Save me from wasting a bunch of $$

I’ve got the crystal down to about 8 oz now so I can keep some srm. I think for transfer process I will be good on keeping out O2, but still reading about how to limit it when putting in dry hops. Best I can find so far is just be quick when opening and adding. I’ll be using a Tilt so will...
