    When to add pumpkin

Are you using fresh or can? Can pumpkin can be spread on a baking sheet and cooked. Then add it to the boil. Fresh can be cut up and baked. Add it to the boil.

    Pumpkin Ale Question

I tried it in my grain bag, but it all desolves out. Don't waste your time with the bag if you are using canned pumpkin. Don't forget to bake the canned pumpkin on a cookie sheet. It will render a better flavor.

What should I brew for October?

Look at Northern brewer online. They have some great kits to choose from at a great price. I would suggest buying the yeast at your LHBS. That way you can control the traveling temps. I am brewing a smashing pumpkin ale and a brown ale for Sept/Oct.

Adding Hard Liquor to a Brown Ale???

I really am curious about adding liquor to my brew? I really don't want to make a stout which typically has that option. Something like a brown ale... What can I add that would be good? Also, when do I add it? :mug:

    NB Smashing Pumpkin Ale Question?

Can I add can pumpkin pie mix to this brew? Will it make it any better or should I stick with the little bag of spices it came with? I know fresh pumpkin meat would be best, but I hear can pumpkin will still make a good beer. Also, when do I add the pumpkin mix?
