    Heat Lose in MLT

I also throw a couple of towels on the top of the lid. It really helps. I also preheat btw.

    Beer Tools 1.1 Beta testing

Yep I got the email. I signed up for the WinXP version, I was torn on OS because I also use Linux on my laptop. I figured I use my PC more than my laptop so I went with XP. I wish I could legally have and install both.

    dry hopping w/pellets

How about using one of those little cooking bags. The ones with the drawstrings and their made of a mesh cloth material, I think they use them for tea or spices. I have never dry hopped before and have picked up a few of these (their dirt cheap) and was planning on using them for my Dogfish...

    grain mill question

Northern Brewer has the Barleycrusher for $119 and they now have $5.99 flat shipping until Oct 15th. I just ordered one, along with everything else, and it should be here on Friday. I figured I ordered 40 lbs of grains, hops, yeast, a scale and still only paid $5.99 for shipping!! :ban:

I use Beertools Pro. Great program and they update it quite regularly. Sure it has it's little quirks but overall I like the program. Well worth it.

Would you need to add the usual priming sugar at bottling time or would the chocolate do the job??

    Fantasy football anyone?

Just another site to think about is http://www.fleaflicker.com. It's real simple and free. Live scoring. The down side is that there is not much for player information, stats on previous years and stuff. I'm already in 4 other leagues. 2 on ESPN, 1 on Fleaflicker and 1 on Sportsline...

    Salem Beer Works--MA

That's one of our favorite places to go when we are in that area. Good beer and good food too. Nothing like sitting outside and having one of their beers when the weathers nice.

    Cooler Conversion Questions

Well I can respond on what I know. I've built a MT using a 48 qt rectangular cooler. The good thing is that I do 5 gallon batches and there is A LOT of room, the bad thing is that there is A LOT of room. However doing batch sparges (which is what I do) is no problem I have yet to have a stuck...

Advice from Military folks who lived overseas...

When you say "household goods" are you married living in housing or single living in the barracks? I know when I shipped back in '92 they did not question what I had, they just shipped it. But I was married and therefore had much more stuff.

    Batch sparge question

I had the opportunity to speak with one of the owners here at a local brew pub and she said they don't pay any attention to PH. Of course our water here is pretty good.

I think NB forgot to crush my grains..

Great! When I got to Brew Works I asked/showed them the grains and they said that the grains looked like they were "kind of" milled. Not very well to say the least. We ran them through their small mill and there was a noticeable difference. She was very friendly and we had a chance to talk beer...

I think NB forgot to crush my grains..

Hey that's actually a good question. I'll have to have a conversation with them about that. I think I spoke to one of the owners on the phone and she said that she would be there around 9:00 am on Saturday and if I wanted to come by then before I wanted to start brewing she would let me in do...
