    Used Coffee Containers

I don't drink coffee but we go through a lot of it at work. I have about 50 of these containers now. I've bee using them for all sorts of storage of small parts from router bits to small kegerator/keg parts. I have also started using them for sanitizing parts too. Just put your sanitizer in and...

    Scrapped a keg:(

Well, i tried to MIG weld a couple of 1/2" couplings into a Sanke keg I picked up at a scrap yard. I used the correct stainless wire and gas but the welds turned out like crap. they hold water but they will hold lots of funky bugs. To fix it it I was thinking of removing the 1/2" and have 1"...

Suspended cold plate - jockey box

I've never seen that about water. Actually, for optimal thermo transfer water with ice is much better conductor of cold than just ice.

    CO2 in Freezer?

If you lay it on it's side the CO2 tank will be dispensing liquid CO2. This is bad for regulators not to mention the beer.

It is really amazing how just little bits of dried out, chopped up root will grow!

    Hops are Hardy!

One of my co workers wives has some Perle hops growing in buried 20 gal. plastic storage bins. Well they've escaped:D lol The storage bin's cracked and the Hops have spread out into their lawn. This year when they started to sprout bines, She decided to get out a shovel and turn into a human...

    Dry Ice for temporary Kegerator?

If that were a Michigan Volvo you'd have enough rust holes in the floor of the trunk to let any CO2 out through there..Ventilation not necessary>>LOL

    DIY Corny Keg Carbonation Lid

How well does it work? Is the aerator heavy enough to sink to the bottom, or does it float? Do you do anything special to carbonate? Shake, swirl, lay down, stand up?

    Dry Ice for temporary Kegerator?

I didn't see any insulation in the trunk. You should probably insulate the trunk as much as you can to make the dry ice last longer!

    Paranoid Spouse

To date I've bottled about 2200 bottles of beer. I've only ever had one break. It was because I dropped it onto the driveway off my BBQ grill shelf.... Never had a "bottle bomb" even though I've over carb'd a few times. I use mostly reused Sam Adams bottles My brother and sister in law hate...

    Removing labels from beer bottles.

I get empty plastic kitty litter buckets and put as many bottles as i can fit in it pour in about 1/2 cup of bleach, and fill with hot water. Then I let it sit. For a month! The kitty litter buckets are nice because you can stack them up, even full. After a month you can wipe the labels off if...

    leaking keg..

Seal it under higher than serving pressure then turn it down. I also don't flip the bale down until it is sealed. I lube it good then lift up on the keg with the bale and swivel it around a bit to seat properly. Once sealed snap the bale down and you should be good to go!

    Bending out a keg skirt

A bottle jack would work great with a some heat. The heat will discolor the stainless but you can remove the discoloration with Scotchbrite metal finishing pads.

Taps through the front of a mini fridge

As light as those mini fridges are, you could set it up on a counter top somewhere. It would be a great height and you wont get the dust bunnies collecting under/behind it as fast as they would on the floor..

    Air bubbles in the auto-siphon

Are you racking from primary to secondary? It could be CO2 coming out of solution. I usually get some small bubbles in the tubing after fermentation during racking to the secondary, bottling bucket, or keg. If it is the wort prior to fermentation then you definitely have an air leak.

    Design of mill (metallurgy)

You need knurling on the smaller rollers to pull the grain through. If you don't have knurling you have to go with bigger rollers so the grain won't slide. I have also seen reference to 4" diameter rollers. I have not built one "yet" so I can't say for sure if un-knurled 4" diameter will work or...
