American IPA Hazed and Infused Clone

05 has become my go to yeast! I know there are others that are superior but 05 works for me and I am the one who has to drink it!

First double brew day this Sat. Any advice?

My first double brew day was a success! However those of you that said start early and that it takes longer then you might think are correct! I had everything measured except the water the night before and I started at 9am. Finally at 3:30pm I was done and exhausted lol. No issues really other...

First double brew day this Sat. Any advice?

Well I figure if I start early then drinking too much should not be a problem, I already have everything measured out except my water. I brew outside on turkey fryers, I have two fryers and two keggles one is a HLT the other is my BK. so I won't have a issue getting water up to temp etc. I also...

First double brew day this Sat. Any advice?

Thanks for those suggestions! I did not think about starting early, so that I will do. Starting early will also help with not drinking to much as I will be drinking coffee lol. Cool deal, well I will post up some pics on the progress. Thanks again!

First double brew day this Sat. Any advice?

So I have been slacking on my brewing, between unexpected life issues and helping my fiancee plan our wedding, I am about to blow my last keg any pour now! With that said to attempt to catch back up I plan on doing a double brew Saturday morning. What if anything should I be thinking of? I...

Want to add a stout tap to my Danby.

Did some searching to see what others have done but did not find anything set in stone. My question is has anyone drilled a second hole in the back of a Danby for either the nitro line or a second co2 line? It seems most people just put a splitter inside the Kegerator and only run one pressure...

So, SWMBO was helping me keg and....

Oh the hops did go back in the keg, this time in a sack!

So, SWMBO was helping me keg and....

That's good to know! We did just get done taking a large slotted spoon and scooping out what looked like over %90 of the hops. We sanitized everything (luckily I still had a bucket of starsan sitting there). I think what little hops make it to the glass will just be little prizes at this...

So, SWMBO was helping me keg and....

Tossed 1 1/2 ounces of whole leaf Cascades right into the keg. I had my back turned and she asked "do they just go in the keg"? I responded with a "yup" and as I went to watch the fruits of my labor fill the keg I noticed them just swirling on the surface. In a calm voice I just kinda looked...

    New thermometer/sight glass heat shield

Sounds good, I am not sure what gauge the stock is but I know its 1/8" what ever that converts too... I had some thinner material but it was raw steel and I honestly did not want to deal with rust etc.. Anyhow good info and like others have said your product is top notch! Thanks!

    New thermometer/sight glass heat shield

No, that's the first I have seen that! Also this one is my HLT. I have not installed the one on my BK yet. You guys think the temp of the flame will cause it to read to high? I mean I watched Bobby's bid on installing then like 3 times and that's where he put his.

    New thermometer/sight glass heat shield

Let me correct that, the center of the fitting is at 3/4" above not the bottom of the thermometer.

    New thermometer/sight glass heat shield

Might just be the angle, it's almost 3/4" above the skirt weld. I believe 5/8" is where most put it?

    New thermometer/sight glass heat shield

So i have been wanting a sight glass/thermo combo for a while now but was never thrilled about it boiling etc. in the tube. Last night I drilled some holes, installed the sight glass and thermo as well as made a shield out of aluminum stock. Turned out pretty good, going to give it a test run...

Specialty IPA: Rye IPA Bee Cave Brewery Rye IPA

So I brewed this beer as my 5th all grain and 1st all grain with my new false bottom in the Tun. After getting terrible efficiencies with a copper manifold in the 40%-50% range on my first 4 brews, I am happy to say that this one hit %80! While I normally do secondary (for clearing) I decided to...

    Burner/pot question

Take 30qt (pot size) and divide that by 4qt (1gal) you will get 7.5 That number represents the amount of gallons in a 30qt pot. Finally I get to add something to this forum!
