Do you Cold Crash? (everyone vote! especially if you don't)

I cold crash every batch, I ferm in 1/4 slim Sankey kegs and siphon off via Co2 into a Corny keg. At that time I drop the temp on my frem chamber to 30 degrees or so for 5-7 days.

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

I was given a sixer as a gift and after having one I pretty much gave the rest away. I don't know what it is about that beer but my pallet does not like it at all.

A question for those that are using a chest freezer and temp controller.

I only use my chest freezer for a ferm-chamber, however for that use the probe wedged between the lid and base works just fine.

    What are you drinking now?

Drifter Clone, brewed for my wedding day on the 20th!!

    cold crashing necessary?

I used to never cold crash but I did read allot about it on here. Then one magical day I converted a chest freezer to a Ferm-Chamber and with the turn of a knob I get clear beer.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Funny you say that, I live in Central Florida and can't stand to brew in the summer months. In the Winter I brew at least twice a month in the summer which is 8 months out of the year, I might brew 5 times....

Hop spider woes solved! In stainless!

Thought I would post mine up here. I had the PVC rig for about an year until it finally melted. Never noticed any issues with it but then it never touched my wort. Anyhow I made this one and it is pretty much the same as the others just slightly modified.

    Copper Tubing Bending

Just for others, all you need to do to get perfect bends in your copper is (assuming its already coiled) is cap one end, fill the entire coil with water and freeze. Once frozen you can create a tighter radius down to around 6" with zero kinks. When coiled allow the pipe to thaw and when done...

First double brew day this Sat. Any advice?

Yeah that's my understanding for sure, to be completely honest I just felt like I could call it a pumpkin beer with out the pumpkin. It might not do much but at least my brewer skill level is increasing!

First double brew day this Sat. Any advice?

It was a 5 gal. batch, however to be fair what I really meant was the pumpkin as a whole was about 10lbs. I only used the meat but still fee I put 7-8 lbs. in the mash! Hey it's my first attempt and I read it takes a lot of pumpkin for a little pumpkin taste, besides SWMBO absolutely loves...
