    Fresh Squeezed IPA (Deschutes Inspired)

Just (last night) had my first pint that has been conditioning for a few weeks and I agree it has a very malt forward presence. I don't usually care for that in an IPA, but it was actually vey tasty and balanced the bitterness well. Really good beer.

    HDPE 2 - 13 Gallon Fermenter?

I use one as well. Drilled a hole in the center of the top for a stopper/airlock. Works great and does 10gals with ease, no blow off tube.

    Fermentation Chamber w/ SMALL fridge???

I have one of these small fridges kicking around an would like to build this quick and dirty chamber. Couple of questions. First is the bottom simply rigid foam? And second, how cold can it get? If it can hold an ale ferm temp that would be fine, if it can lager and cold crash, that would be...

    American IPA Fresh Squeezed IPA

The original posted recipe says it's a 6 gal batch. Is that 6 gals into the fermenter (which would give apporx 5 gals of finished beer) or 6 gals of finished beer (with approx 7 into the fermenter). thanks, Mark

    Brew Boss Systems

Do you squeeze the grain bag? I do. That is the only big difference I see among techniques. Of course, my calculations could be off too, but I don't think so. I typically use an online calculator. Forget which one. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    Brew Boss Systems

No dip tube. I don't think you'd want it. The drain is close enough to the bottom to get all but about 3/4 gal which leaves the junk behind. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

So, I was able to install my 240v/30A GFCI circuit in the garage, water test and then brew with the Brew Boss. The purchased setup is: 15gal kettle with basket and bag along with custom lid/sparge arm, drain port, 5500W element, WiFi enabled brew controller, direct contact temp sensor and...

    Brew Boss Systems

I bought the full system (minus the hopboss) which is waiting for me at home to return from travel. I should have the system up and running next weekend and will post pics and a report. My plan is to use it for BIAB for the first several batches and then try my 8 gal pot as the top pot in a...

Want to go BIAB but a few questions

I have an 8 gallon kettle and do 5 gallon batches with no problem. Last was an 11.5lb grain APA recipe that came out fantastic. You will need to be vigilant regarding boil overs...use Fermcap. Would I prefer a bigger pot...yes. But I don't have it now and make what I have work. BIAB rocks...

How can I protect the name of my future brewery?

While a federal registration will protect you nationally, if you don't know whether you are going to use it, you may not want to spend the money on registering. Even if you get the registration, you will need to file an "intent to use" and prove commercial use. If you can't prove it, you will...
