    Caramel Apple Hard Cider

That syrup is some good stuff. Was trying to funnel it into a beer bottle for storage in the fridge and managed to spill it between the stove and the cabinets. Tried to RDWDAHB, but wifey insisted it be cleaned up right away.

    Propane Burner on a Deck

I boil on my deck all the time. No issues yet

    Extract Supplies for Canadians

I've ordered from both of these. No problems with either. Brewers pantry I've done pickup both times - they are relatively local. Toronto Brewing has quick shipping. Prices for both seem reasonable

    First AG

I was going to create, but I stumbled upon that recipe and it looked good - good comments and reviews. Ended up having to sub some stuff in - we'll see how it turns out. Mine was quite sweet as well - figure though, the yeast hasn't had a chance to chew through any of the sugar yet, so that...

    First AG

Didn't find it scary. Gotta fix my mash tun - had a bit of a drip when I was sparging.

    First AG

Just brewed my first AG. Loosely based it on BierMunchers Centennial Blonde (https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f66/centennial-blonde-simple-4-all-grain-5-10-gall-42841/) but had to do some subs due to ingredient availability. Got 73% effeciency - pretty stoked about that. Thinking about...

    Caramel Apple Hard Cider

Pitched about a month ago. Finally took a gravity reading on this. I'm at 1.000 even. Likely going to bottle in the next week or so - want to carb, so just need to ensure that the time is available to pasturize. Very dry, but nice flavour despite not being back sweetened (the contents of the...

To pay or not to pay. That is my question

I can't say I would charge a friend, but how about inviting him over with his supplies to brew his beer with you? Maybe the hobby will bite him too!

    Caramel Apple Hard Cider

Wow. Just went downstairs to the "Fermentation Cave". Still some decent airlock activity. (Pitched June 14). Getting a bubble every 4-5 seconds still. Not in a rush for this. Figure I'll get to the point of the 24 hour rack over and bottling mid to late July. Surprised it is still showing...

    Caramel Apple Hard Cider

I like cider, but I'm more a beer drinker. That said, this recipe may change that - we'll see. I don't think holding it a month or two should be a problem. If I like it, there may be another batch in the works sooner then later though. I don't mind sweet ciders, but I prefer dry. Went with...

    Caramel Apple Hard Cider

Fired this up last night. Used "Simply Apple" juice - 19.25L (Pasturized, unfiltered) 2lbs dextrose Nottingham Hydrometer is MIA, so OG is unknown. After... 20ish hours, I look like the 2nd pic on post #3. :D I'm glad this is supposed to taste good right away and get better with age -...

    Coors Light Iced T

Tastes like ass. Someone handed me a can and I started drinking it. The start was the end. I think they were all :drunk: when the planned this release out.

    Caramel Apple Hard Cider

Alright. Have a couple glass carboys on the way - $7 each - pick them up early this week. This is getting fired up as soon as I have them

    propane burner

I have a 60,000BTU burner. Doesn't take that long to heat my water, and once heated, I can back the propane input way way down and use almost nothing maintaining the boil.

    Caramel Apple Hard Cider

Liking the looks of this. Think i'm going to try a scaled down version to see how I like it, then tweak the recipe from there.
