Has anyone experimented with the RESt call server on Github? It's based off the Zymatic and dates 2015. I wonder if the Picos could use it? For manual brewing it would be good worse case. But I guess nothing we can do for paks.

    First time using fresh hops

Hey Kenmoron, Thanks fro the reply. Sorry for the delay, I was away. Yep, typo,... brew in a bag style for that batch. I forgot to remove the grains when I ran the boil. The grains were in there the whole 60min. I only realized once I stopped the boil. :-/ It looked and tasted like crap. I...

    First time using fresh hops

We'll see how it turns out. I made a very basic IPA to start with to give me an idea how off they could get. I like how they look, so worse case it will be ornamental as well. Or a garbage pail ale as well. love the name. one of the batches was BIAG, and got a little tipsy with friends while...

    First time using fresh hops

I hear you. So no need to clean, nothing? I was thinking of cold wash, soak a bit, then strain in a salad spinner. once dry and back to room temp, brew them at a ratio of 0.9g of pellets for each grams of 2 days dry hops. they are still wet/greasy, not flaky dry. And a simple single hop IPA...

    Pico C Unpak’d

It does look good to me. The grainfather has lots of support around where I am, and SS Brew tech as well, but I was always fond of Anvil. Nice sturdy without all the fuss. The 10.5G all-in-one seems like a good option for me, paired with the 7.5G fermenters. getting 3 kegs going in a week-end...

I am planning my next brew and will order some of that yeast. Hopefully I will be able to report/comment back in a month or so. I’ll be glad to share as I have not heard anything from anyone else so far. I just need to pick a recipe to experiment with. The recipe tool is fixed at 5L. Argh....

    First time using fresh hops

I just harvested some cascade this year. They are 2 days old now, not wet but not flaky dry neither. I did they are a bit dirty. How can I clean them and what should I do with them before brewing. Hoping to brew tonight if possible.

I would echo the same. I use the pro.... with C kegs. When cold crashed, I rack it to corny kegs. the adapters make it easy to use either. On a different topic, anyone ever used a traditional Norwegian kveik yeast in a pico pak? The fermentation range up to 98 degrees combined with the valve...

    Clawhammer, Grainfather, or Robobrew?

Isn't there any sight glass solution out there. Thanks for the input. I have been looking at the Pico Z and the Grainfather. Still undecided.

Nice. If you can, share pictures of the complete setup. Cheers to you! :mug:

You remodeled the kitchen around the Pico ?! Wow. That's dedication. I am still lobbying my wife to get a whole room in the basement for brewing. ceramic tiles, hermetic doors to keep humidity in, ventilation, electricity, sinks, etc. But it will be generic. We'll see what equipment goes in. I...

    Brewie+ vs Picobrew Z

I would consider the Grandfather or maybe even the robobrew as well. Less relying on a SAAS platform for it to work. All of those are electrical appliances that produce wort, reliably (fairly more than other methods) and make it somewhat easy to reproduce your recipes for the similar amount...

Ah! Well, pico brew systems may not be for everyone. But I believe here you may be confusing. They are talking about the Zymatic. The first machine they produced. It's your own recipes, or recipes you download, and your own ingredients. It makes 2.5 gallons. You are thinking of the 2nd...

Anyone have the Insignia 2-tap kegerator from best buy?

How easy would it be to add a third taP?

Thanks for chiming in. It is a smaller 24oz paintball bottle. That's my setup for parties, easy enough to haul around. I don't like the idea of disposable cartridges.

Beer backflow into CO2 bottle :-(

Funny, same thing happened to me. 2 kegs, 2 seperate CO2 tanks. Installed the kegs for carbing, both reg set to the same pressure. 3 days later, I went to check, and 1 of the kegs was empty, so was the co2 tank... well, it had beer in it instead, like 2-3 oz. The beer was under the deck (the...

Anyone knows how to get rid of beer that backflowed into a CO2 bottle? I converted my mini regulators to be used with much larger bottles and provide gaz through a ball lock connector. The gaz out adapter does not have a check valve built-in, but found one that has now. Before I go about...

I agree the serving kegs can be good if you go somewhere and know the beer will be gone the same night, and don't want to bring the keg back with you.

Same here.... the C type kegs are easy to clean. Since they can't be used for serving, they work well with the fermentation monitor as well. Unfortunately, they are not that useful. And the Kickstarter campaign got canned, I was going to buy a few kegs and monitors (they we both for the price of...
