    Wyeast PC Strains 2025

Kolsch is one of my favorite styles. I brew it a couple times a year. WY2565 was always my go to to yeast. Tried a bunch of split batches, but 2565 always won out until I tried Omega Kolsch II. The LHBS only carries Omega and it does a great job. Haven't tried the WLP4061, but I'll keep an eye...

Planning first Belgian (golden strong ale)... what to do after fermentation?

I agree. Never been able to get the effervescent carb level with a keg. Or at least never been able to get it out of the keg that way 🤣.

Is there a standard water profile you use, "Antwerp"?

    Sweet Stout Recipe

Join AHA and get access to the national homebrew winners recipes. It's a great source and proven recipes. Just pulling recipes off Beersmith or any random website/forum is a crap shoot, unless you have decent experience in a style or ingredients.

    Whirlpool Alternative?

30-second whirlpool in the boil keggle with my spoon, 20-minute wait, then run it through the chiller. Super clear and a nice hop/trub cone left behind. Make sure you account for the extra ibu's for the 20-minutes. Beersmith has that freature.

    Choose a reverse osmosis system

That's a good deal, you should be happy with that.if

    Choose a reverse osmosis system

Here's the lid an how I sit it on the kettle. Not sure if all ro system have automatic shut offs though. When you close ro water side, the whole system stops.

    Choose a reverse osmosis system

I make my ro water just before I brew. It goes straight into my HLT (3v system) like Bobby says. The system itself hangs on the side of my brew cart, but could easily sit on a shelf or on the wall. I run an rv hose to the system from the outside faucet when I'm ready to use it. Have a bucket lid...

Efficiency issues with 2 vessel rims system

You got a new system so your going to have to play with your numbers until you dial it in for a while. Looks like you have alot of nice equipment but the grain mill is essential. I know throwing money at a problem is the answer of last resort. With RIMS you want to crush it fat. I stir the mash...

    Choose a reverse osmosis system

Woof again, this one is twice the price as the PetCo, version. Plus free shipping.

    Choose a reverse osmosis system

Just trip across this unit at Petco. Bare bones, hooks straight to the hose, no holding tank, faucet, etc. Same 75GPD as other and standard filters. Not what I have but hard to beat price...

    Rate your Brew Day Performance

I call my brewery FatFinger because I screw something up every brew day. That being said, my first brew day of 2025 was a back-to-back Irish Stout and Citra IPA. I'm giving myself an A++ as both went extremely well, hit all my numbers and the timing was perfect. Only added a little less than...

What I did for beer today

Did two batchs back-to-back, Irish Dry Stout and Citra Session IPA. Timing on the day was perfect, only added the sparge and boil time of second beer on to the brew day. A little less then 100-minutes total - three vessel, fly sparge, on propane. I guess the last part makes me really old.

    Grain draft

A local brewery did something thing similar , but it was a fantasy draft. It was interesting what folks prioritize in the draft.

    Another yeast pitch question...and D-rest

Couple things: -does anyone else taste it? Give other folks some without telling them you think there is an issue -if you still have some examples of these beers do a forced diacetyl test I run my lagers 10-14 days at 50-52 before doing a d-rest, 3 days at 63, never had an issue with the yeast...

    Dry Astringent/Bitter Finish

Sounds like hop burn. Give a couple weeks and try it again. Also have someone else try it without telling them your concern.
