How in the world did you make that keg shine, like that???

I have to believe that the approach you're referring to is to: A) Rock & roll, all night. & B) Party every day. ;)

    ASCO Solenoid Valve size?

Your best bet is probably this: Open Source Control Systems :: Valves :: 1/2" NPT 2-Way Stainless Motorized Ball Valve

    Thanks. PM sent, in reply.

    Spa panel vs. Standard

Any idea what that would need, to meet current code? Does it need to be enclosed in conduit? If so, I'm already screwed.

    Spa panel vs. Standard

OK...Dang. That outlet is about 30' away. I was hoping to make it a little more of a permanent thing. But, I understand what you're getting at & it makes good sense. ...Especially, since my house was built in 1967.

    Electric Keggle BK/HLT Controller

Can you tell me why the #1 switch & the coil are in there? Are they necessary?

    Spa panel vs. Standard

After some research, I believe I now have a better understanding. The 30 amp breaker in my panel will be used to monitor overloads & the GFCI on the 50 amp breaker downstream will be used to monitor ground faults, rather than overloads. I will be using the 10-3 household wiring that was...

    Stupid questions removed.

    Spa panel vs. Standard

I guess I should have phrased that, a little differently. Should my upstream breaker be sized equal or larger to the 50 amp GFCI breaker, rather than smaller? I will be using 10 awg wire. Hmmm...Forget it...I see that 10 awg only carries 30 amps. Sorry for my ignorance.

    Spa panel vs. Standard

Can you please make a recommendation for size of the breaker upstream of the 50amp spa panel?

    240V 3-wire drier ground/neutral confusion

Thank you so much for this post, p-j! It prompted me to get off my butt & buy the spa panel. With that diagram, it is so well simplified!

    Spa panel vs. Standard

I guess I should have clarified...I did mean after the main breaker, for sure. Thanks for the reply. I'll definitely place it in my brew room, downstream from a sub-breaker. There are 3 unused 240V breakers in my panel...I'll have to check the amperage, on those.

    Spa panel vs. Standard

Interesting...OK. I had seen the crazy price difference. Outrageous, really. So, to power my spa panel, would I branch from an existing breaker, or would I wire directly from the incoming power?

    Spa panel vs. Standard

I'm a little confused about whether I need a spa panel. Is there any reason I can't add a 50 Amp GFCI breaker to my existing panel, if there's room? Is there something better about using a remote spa panel?

    Is this a mistake?

I was looking for a value-priced spa panel & saw this, on the Home Depot site: 50 Amp 240-Volt 240-Watt Non-Fuse Metallic Spa Panel Disconnect with GFI-UG412RMW250P at The Home Depot Do you think the 240 Watt rating in the description is a mistake? Seems strange to me, but what do I know?

    Motorized Valves

Oh, don't get me wrong...I wasn't complaining, at all. I was just asking whether there were cheaper options, out there. My stainless ball valves were just over $7 each. I like to shop for the best possible prices.

    Motorized Valves

Does anyone have a good line on cheap motorized valves? I know Open Source has great ones, but for $40+ each. I have a feeling there's got to be something else out there.
