Sorry - just have to ask how everyone on this page has brewed over 5000 gallons? These must be lifetime numbers and not 2020. Still amazingly impressive!
I am almost embarrassed to say that yesterday I only kegged my 40th gallon of the year. I will keep at it though!
Thanks for the quick reply and the spreadsheet too - Very helpful info! I will check with Spike to get the total volume of the fermentor including the domed pressure lid.
Hi All,
I am preparing for my first pressurized transfer after spunding a 5 gallon batch in my Spike Flex+ fermentor. Currently, the tank is sitting at 15psi. In the next couple of days I will cold crash down to about 35-40 degrees, and I'm guessing the tank pressure will drop to around...
For the last few years, after I moved from carboy to SS Brewbucket, I have been using a wire kitchen whisk attached to my power drill. It seems to work for me, however I have started researching an upgrade to an oxygenation set up.
Bike rider here: road and mountain. When I'm able to get in 5-6 days per week on the bike it balances out my brewing hobby very well. A little harder in the winter though.
I have definitely had a few that have merited dumping over the years, after grinning and bearing the first few bottles. The last questionable batch though was a bit of an oddity - one friend said it was a terrible Hefe (the intended brew), but another said it a pretty solid sour.
Thanks! And good to hear of someone with experience in this. Provided there is ample headspace (I usually eyeball measure about an inch or two while filling kegs), what time difference have you noticed before your brew hits your carb target? With a normal force carbonation I do four days at...
Hi all - new question here after coming up dry on searching posts.
In order to speed keg carbonation, a friend told me that he sometimes he pushes CO2 down the liquid post of his ball lock kegs. Has anyone ever tried doing this on a sanke keg? I have several D-couplers and could set one up for...
Thanks for the reply. I now must admit a learning curve smack in the forehead as my buddy took one look at it and removed it by pushing it onto the tank. Apparently it's super simple once one knows what they are doing!
Cheers!
I just inherited a kettle with 2 tc port press-fit diptubes installed. Anyone know a trick for removing them for thorough kettle cleaning? I can only get them halfway out before they get stuck.
Definitely compostible with the right mix of other yard/food scraps. Sometimes too I just put dried grains and hop dust into my fertilizer spreader to feed my lawn.
