How to obtain a milky/cloudy looking beer.

Couldn't you just boil just enough water to cover the flour, dump the flour in it, cover, cool, and then add it? Sanitary flour soup.

    Texas Frisco, TX water supply

That's what I'm saying. Thanks for confirming what I have been thinking. I have had mixed results, but the best beers ive made to date have been from R/O water plus a few additions from the thread somewhere in this forum... it can't be good when you can smell the chloramines every time you...

    Shiner Cheer recipe

Sorry for the delay in responding. My brew turned out a little strange. I used both apricot extract and fresh peaches. I froze and cooked the peaches (simmered, but not boiled), broke the pecans with the side of a butcher knife, and soaked them in vodka to make a tincture. I bottle, so some...

Lifetime Cooler as a mash tun

Save your money, go buy a $20 igloo and a $7 bottle of expanding spray foam. Drill a couple of holes in the top and side of the lid, spray a bit of the foam inside the lid and wait. If it fills the void its good, if not, spray more foam. Make sure to put something heavy on the lid to weigh it...

Considering kegging: ball lock or pin lock and why?

Im considering buying a fridge for the garage and delegating part of it as a kegerator. I was looking at pin lock kegs for the cost savings. Why do I see the preference being with ball lock kegs?

    Fruit sanitation

Hello all I wasnt sure if this should go here or in another subforum, mods feel free to move. Im adding some peaches to a beer I currently have in the fermenter. Im not sure if I should pour dissolved campden solution over the sliced peaches or pasteurize them before dumping them in the...

Im in McKinney. I actually ended up using a filtration system to get my water down to where it was usable. After acid additions and CaCl with a bit of gypsum it produces drinkable beer.

Camden Tablet Neglect - Did I Just Botch my Brew?

Is it possible that the chlorophenol or band-aid taste would show up 3 months after bottle conditioning? I remember tasting a seriously un-agreeable taste in a few batches I brewed and fermented around 68F. They werent there at the 5 week mark.

    Why no love for bleach?

Activated oxygen is for both sanitizing and cleaning, it is used to sanitize the back of ambulances. Assuming Oxyclean actually has activated oxygen in it, it should work.
