looking for an IPA to try out

I'd think you can find a lot of IPA recipes here and on other sites ..... you just have to brew 'em and figure out which ones you want to keep and which ones you never brew again! Some (including me), prefer to experiment with 1 gallon brews - it's easier to drink a sixer of brews you don't...

    Brewtarget projected volumes

Just removed and re-installed BrewTarget - let's just hope I can resist punching buttons w/o reading about the specific need to do so in the manual first! Thanks folks!

    Brewtarget projected volumes

Yeah, I guess you're right. I click all the buttons to see what the program has and what it can do for me .... I guess I punched a couple too many buttons ;>), ya think?

    Brewtarget projected volumes

@pricelessbrewing - I don't know what I did, but I've got the icon 'ribbon' back - I still can't find a close 'X' in the r/h corner, but I'm working on that. I don't know what happened, or why, but it erased all of my other recipes :>(, so I guess I'll have to put them back in. I kinda wish the...

    Brewtarget projected volumes

@pricelessbrewing Thanks! It'll get better. I only have a couple of things to fix so far. Since you mentioned the manual, it was a button in BrewTarget itself that I clicked, not the PDF that masskrug posted. I found the button in the "About" menu. @ Nagorg I already have the Winblows version...

    Brewtarget projected volumes

@pricelessbrewing I finally figured out what I had done wrong - I chose one of their default equipments. I had to read the manual and also play around a little bit to create a new equipment profile for BIAB with an 8 gallon kettle ... now everything looks much better! Thanks for the hint! I put...

    Brewtarget projected volumes

Thanks, it says they have a 'free trial' so I'll take a look in a few days - got a lot goin right now. I appreciate the help!

    Brewtarget projected volumes

@pricelessbrewing THX, maybe I'll just have to look into BeerSmith for Linux - thing is, I've read that the Linux version is "not ready for prime time' but I have no experience with the Linux version, so I don't know. If anyone knows of any other open source brew apps, I'd like to check into...

    Brewtarget projected volumes

@ Nagorg - apparently you didn't read my whole post ;>).: "Mikfire once suggested that we put together a manual, but as a computer illiterate, I'm the last person that could figure out how to make this computer stuff work - I've got to be lead by the hand ;>)." A. since I'm a computer...

    Brewtarget projected volumes

What is up with Brewtarget? I used this a few years back, and it was always spot on, my main complaint was a lack of documentation .... now when I put in a 5 gallon recipe, it projects a 2.90 gal batch. To test this I even upped the boil volume for 60 min to 8 gallons, and still it only showed...

    Brewtarget 2.4 release?

I've been wondering the same thing .... It's available in Debian packages, so I re-downloaded it, but I can't make hide nor hair of it in some respects .... no docs, no manual, etc. that I can find. I always liked it for Linux desktops, but now I got nowhere to go for info, except old posts on...

Climbing Gravity-Taking a High Gravity Beer From Grain To Glass

Sounds like a good Winter ale, and since we're still having snow storms here ...... ;>). Could you share the quantities of coconut and cocoa nibs you used? Since I'm not partial to 'fruity' beers, I'd probably split the wort and only add coconut to one half for an experiment, and, since I love...

    Bent Nail clone?

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to see if anyone was interested in creating a clone recipe if they had more information about the beer.I'm a shirt-tail brewer ... if there isn't a written recipe, I don't brew it. Here's the specifics on Bent Nail IPA from the brewery, straight from...

Brew It! - Yooper's Oatmeal Stout

Hope to brew this soon, still working on electrifyin' my pots! Sounds great, and since my favorite beers are all dark, I'll brew it all year round along with her DFH60 clone! I wonder if she has a good porter recipe? :>)

Brew It! - Yooper's Oatmeal Stout

Yooper says - I really feel that I nailed what I was looking for in the first iteration and haven’t adjusted or tweaked the recipe at all.

Big Beer’s U.S. Problem Just Got Bigger

Since I don't see some of the previously familiar names, I think they sacked some of the original employees (maybe they didn't want to be associated with the sellout), I just don't like the idea of supporting a conglomerate who is gobbling up everything in sight ..... as has already been said...

Big Beer’s U.S. Problem Just Got Bigger

MaryB - I've found that Love2brew in NJ, Adventures in Homebrew, and HBX (HomeBrewExchange) in OR sometimes have a reduction special on their shipping that works well for me, although I don't order in large quantities, and that may make the difference - I think my heaviest order was about 40 or...

Big Beer’s U.S. Problem Just Got Bigger

My misteakenzie ;>) ..... somewhere in the dark recesses of my feeble old mind I think I was either told, or had read that it was ABInbev ..... thanks for the correction! BTW, the only good reason I can see for buying from No.Brew. is their Big-Mouth Bubblers, which I use for fermenters...

Big Beer’s U.S. Problem Just Got Bigger

I'm just wondering if it's the expanding popularity of Homebrewing and Craft Beer sales that are affecting the sales of the alcohol-infused pee-water that they sell ..... https://www.wsj.com/articles/big-beers-u-s-problem-just-got-bigger-1509021939 It wouldn't hurt my feelings if they...

    Demon Hopyard IPA

Thanks folks .... I was thinking of putting this brew in my schedule - got a few others to make first, but I hope to get to this one as well, if I live long enuff ;>). I like bitter beers, so this might be my cuppa! IF/When I get to it, I'll post back on this thread as to my thoughts on...
