Hi Everyone, I want to clear up my APA before it goes into the bottles. My issue is that I do not have a fridge to cold crash in. Just my trusty 50 gallon rubbermade bin. What would you suggest as far as getting the temp down? I am assuming it would be lots of ice and draining the water...

    Type of water used

Hi Everyone, When I brewed my first batch 2 weeks ago I used distilled water (thinking I wanted the purest possible). After doing some research I have found the the brew needs minerals and salts to be healthy. I had a vigorous fermentation during the first 36 hours then it died down quickly...

    Air lock ring fell in....

well you won't have an air tight seal to keep the baddies out after the CO2 flow stops/slows. I would highly recommend that you either fish out the old seal (that might not be fully sterilized, thus harboring baddies) or go buy a new seal from your home brew supplier. If it was me I would fish...

    Keeping Fermenter Cool

I think I am going to pick up one of those igloo coolers after work. Can you just take a dremel tool to the original lid? Or will I need to fabricate a new lid from foam like Yooper? I really want to pick up a small fridge or freezer and convert it to a keezer. Space is at a premium in my...
