    Stoopid power windows/locks

Look around on a Nissan or pathfinder forum, I bet if you have the problem, someone else has and already figured out the issue. My jeep had similar issues in that the power-window child lock was permanently on so you could only open/close the windows from the drivers seat. Turns out the switch...

    green-yellow head

Some of my really hoppy beers (and some super hoppy beers I have had at breweries) have a slightly greenish tinge to the head...but that shouldn't be the case with a hefe unless you are hopping the heck out of it.

    Denver, CO water

I usually add about 1/2 tsp gypsum to my mash water (Boulder water) for a 10 gallon batch, my mash pH usually comes out about right. The big key for me to getting my mash to work was adding a charcoal filter to my sink system, there was way too much chlorine and my theory was that it was...

    Ski Season is Here

and ski season is over for me...tore a bunch of ligaments in my foot on wednesday and had surgery on friday. Crutches for the next 3 months, and physical therapy for months afterward...awesome!

And...not gonna be brewing for a while

damnit, hurt my foot wednesday playing indoor soccer, went to an orthopedic specialist thursday, linsfranc fracture (read: very bad) tore a bunch of ligaments that hold my foot together, and had surgery today. Will be in a non-weight bearing cast for 3 months at least and crutches...so I will...

I had really bad service here, not a fan.

    Blackberry Storm

That was an idiotic thing to leave out, and I would warrant a guess that Verizon told them to leave it out, so you rack up more minutes on their network. My Ipod does WiFi...why the heck shouldn't my phone...

Lowest priced Turkey you can find

I paid $2.99/#, but got free range blah blah blah, I think they will taste much better. One is getting fried, the other roasted (mostly b/c I may screw one up...never done this before)

    Blackberry Storm

I really do want one, I have an Ipod touch and totally love it (does WiFi) but Verizon is the only company with really decent coverage in Colorado so I won't switch to AT&T to get an iPhone. So I think I will go with the Storm if it ends up being anything like an iPhone. My current LG 'stupid'...

    Storage of commercial beer

Yeah, working on that...but my basement is crowded now, losing a roommate/tenant in late spring, so I should have more space to turn that room into an office so I can clear space in my storage room for beer. Trying to figure out how to get one unit for carbing/conditioning kegs and bottles and...

    Ski Season is Here

That is going to set up some really dangerous avalanche conditions if it warms up at all before the actual snow comes....early season snow is a wolf in sheeps clothing, while I love it...causes problems.

    HBS in the Denver area...

I'll second them, great shop and Dry Dock has some great beers. Fortunately Hop To It/Stomp Them Grapes is a block from my house...so from Boulder, it is an easy choice.

D'oh, juice with preservatives, can I ferment it?

well, I pitched three more packages of nottingham today...I'll see what happens...if it doesn't start in a few days, I'll just keg it and drink carbed cider for the next few weeks...

    Storage of commercial beer

So lets say I happen to have a fair number of bombers and such that I want to store but are taking up too much space in the fridge. I bought them cold at the liquor store and have had them in my fridge since. Can I store them in my basement (65*F most of the time) or do they have to stay cold...

D'oh, juice with preservatives, can I ferment it?

I bought 5 gallons of apple cider that said pasteurized, and I didn't bother to check the label. Pitched a packet of nottingham on thursday, and nothing yet, no change in SG, no signs of fermentation. Checked the bottles, says is contains less than 1/10 of 1% (i.e. <0.1%) Potassium Sorbate and...

    Sam Adams Imperial Pilsner

you do realize these are two completely different beer styles you are comparing. That's like saying I really prefer Mardesous over bud light... The Imp. Pilsener will not age well, most really hoppy beers don't. I haven't seen this years release yet, but am eagerly awaiting it, I loved it...

    Auto-Siphon Pros and Cons

Had one for two years, never remove the tubing, clean with sanitizer and water after use, no problems ever. Just bought the larger sized one, man, it makes life even easier!

Results from juice, yeast and sugar experiments

Great thread! I am planning on doing a batch of cider soon (sorry for the Noobish question) and all I can get is pasteurized cider. (at $5/gal it isn't too bad). I prefer a semi-sweet cider, much like you. What would you reccomend for yeast and sugar to make your best (favorite) hard cider...
