Yeah, I'm ok with the zinc aspect of it. Mostly concerned about leaching lead or cadmium from the washer. If it helps, my friend build the tun in 2012 from parts from Ace hardware, so hopefully that means it's a non-leaded galvanization washer. I'm pretty sure it looked stainless to begin...
