    Want a built in/undercounter Kegerator

Ok, I've looked into it and the d**n undercounter designs are three to four hundred dollars more. Dorm fridges that I have looked at don't have clearance for a corny keg. Any Ideas to save myself the extra funds and get the kegerator installed, I'm beginning to hate bottles. LOL. My Idea...

    Cereal Batch?

I think that is what it is called when you pitch a fresh batch of wort on the yeast cake from a previous primary fermentation. I am brewing the same Fullers ESB recipe on this coming Monda and could Save myself 5 or so bucks by reusing the yeast cake from this batch of ESB. How should I go about...

New to PM; Cold break and Etc...

    1. How important might it be that I get a cold break? I usually Ice my pot in the bathtub until I get down to 70-75 degrees. But I am just starting to read more on break removal and the like. I ladled the cool wort through cheese cloth. 1a. Should I siphon this into the carboy, after the...

    Wort tasting?

I usually only taste the wort after chilling it. So I guess I can't speak on the flavor before hops additions. Maybe you only noticed the harshness because it was such a huge change from your previous sampling. ? are you using a stainless steel pot. Only asked because Aluminium will react to...

My Cream Ale is too Brown

Ok, so you are correct I did a 2.5gal boil. I am using a 16qt pot. I have been putting off getting an even larger pot because of the expense. All the pots larger than 20qt have been pretty pricey. Are there any suppliers you guys might suggest for the purchase of a 32 qt or larger kettle?

My Cream Ale is too Brown

My Cream Ale is supposed to be a 5.2 SRM but it looks more like a 7 or 8. It was looking fine up until about 30min into the boil. Did I boil on too high a heat and thus introduce more color or is this a natural thing and it will lighten later. Ingredients: Dextrine Malt Honey Malt Flaked...

    Holiday Cheer...

Though I am not the most experienced brewer I am an experienced Chef. Aromatics when used should be left for the last few minutes of boiling. 10 min would be fine for everything but the Vanilla; that should be left for the secondary fermentor or when racking @ bottling. I made a Holiday ale...
