    Mulch?

    I too have a compost pile! Spent grain, all of my fruit veggie scraps along with my coffee grounds. Oh for those with nematode problems add seafood shells to the pile the chitin from the shells attracts a bacteria that nematodes do not like.

    Man the cider I used for my last batch came in bottles like that. I knew I had a good reason for saving them!!!!! I will be trying some different meads and flavored ciders in them Whoo HOoooo!!! I had not checked to see if the stopper and airlock would fit but I will check in the morning!:ban:

    Got Mine!

    Recieved my Magnum and Sunbeam from Fresh Hops yesterday. Waiting for my second order to arrive from them in a few days. (Centennial, Kent Goldings and Zeus) Hmmmm, Maybe I'll order a Cascade....Naw ....I'll get some next year.

    F Dry Hopping!!!!!

    I plan to attach mine to the eaves supported by shorter poles so they can grow up then over my uncovered front porch. Kind of creating an arbor.

    The Monster Awakes.

    Orfy a friend of mine has fuggles and last season it's third he got 4 cones, LOL! Any sugestions for him. He is a totally organic gardener and keeps his soil ph around 6.5. All of his veggies grow like crazy his cascades were wild fire last season. Huge crop!! in the same soil.

    Be sure to check the soil ph. You guys with clay soil add some gypsum. Home depot has it for like 4 bucks a bag. If your soil is acidic like mine you need to adjust it with some lime. I added compost, lime, gypsum and sand. I have read that Hops like organic fertilizers better than...

    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

    Oh HE dbl hockeys!! I'll make this one into a 5 gallon batch without the pith so I'll skin'em I feel like 5 sticks of cinnamon for 5 gallons may be a bit much.
