HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Great diagram - I must have found every one BUT that one in my searches! Still can't get it to work tho, connecting the A4 and A5 pins to the I2C stops the script. I have to figure this problem is something obvious, just not seeing it at the moment.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

ok so here's something odd: if I connect the SDA and SCL pins to A4 and A5 respectively, the script stops running. If I unplug, it starts back up. Any idea why that would happen?

That got things running, thank you. Sensors all reporting but now looking at a blank LCD... which pin should I be using for the other I2C connection?

Is the OneWire the data connection that the temperature sensors use? If so, I am using A4 for that. The other pin on the I2C goes to A5 currently. Not using a shield.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Hello - I have a question for folks here smarter than me, hopefully this is an easy one. I have set up Fermentrack for my latest fermentation chamber build, which includes an I2C LCD display. However, I can't seem to get the I2C variant of the firmware to work, the script does not start and I...

So i stopped taking gravity measurements

I record as many data points as I can think of (engineer). Pre-boil is the most interesting gravity reading for me, to check on mash efficiency.

need help with LCD hookup on Fermentrack build

My bad, I wasn't sure the best place to post at the time. I'll play around with the install some more today and post in the right place if I'm still stuck. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

need help with LCD hookup on Fermentrack build

Thanks for the response, appreciate it. I haven't tried the Arduino forum at this point, figuring that I may have better luck with someone here who has done a similar build with Fermentrack. But, I may get to the other forums at some point if I can't figure it out.

    Multiple newbie questions

As far as construction goes, how are you using the 2x10s? If that's for your lid, I'd go a different direction unless you have experience with that type of joinery (jointing, planing, etc). I considered that at first, but was worried about expansion/contraction and cupping of the lumber. I...

Yep, and Battlefield light is going away soon as well. Will be able to drive without lights, and without using toll roads, the 40 miles or so from Leesburg to Constitution Avenue downtown. May take 8 hours sitting in traffic, but still... PS - good to meet another long suffering Skins fan.

Haha you must have been around for a LONG time, I 'm pretty sure that Ashburn has been around since the 19th century. A friend of mine's family had a house there before he was born, and he's my age. Now the sea-of-homes version happened late 80's perhaps? I remember it being built.

Good info, thank you. I haven't tried any homebrew clubs yet, but I'd like to in future. And if someone opens an absinthery, I'll see ya there...

Agreed, it's a great place to live. Other than a couple years in Germantown, I've lived in Loudoun for 35 years as well, and definitely remember old Rt 7 eastbound (though I seem to remember a single stop light at Ashburn, back when Ashburn was a little village instead of a sea of house farms...

Excellent. Like Point of Rocks or Brunswick? I used to live in Germantown, and from Leesburg commuted 15 to 28 to the back roads near Sugarloaf to get to western Montgomery. We still head up to Frederick occasionally, I really like the old town - our company did some work at the old Union Mills...

    Multiple newbie questions

Hi I'm a little late to the game, but did anyone answer your question about the taps/ lid weight? I built a 5-tap keezer with black iron pipe towers and replaced the freezer lid with one built from wood. A little different than your setup, as I did 5 individual pipes, but either way the weight...

Thanks. I make it over to Delaware from time to time, the in-laws have a place near Bethany, and there's a cool little brew pub we like to visit in Rehoboth.
