    Facelift for my control panel

Question about your RIMS tube, is the red wire in the vicinity of the camlock in the body of the tube a ground wire? If so, how is it attached?

    Facelift for my control panel

Thanks. That's what I was getting at by suggesting a 3/4 pipe end which should have a shorter "stop" to drill out as the ID of the pipe section would be larger than the od of the heater

    Facelift for my control panel

Thank you for the picture, it helps. I think it confirms what I was saying. Do you have a similar picture for a fitting with a larger NPT connection, would it have the same kind of "ridge"?

    Facelift for my control panel

Question on your RIMS tube with cartridge heater, when you say you drilled out a compression fitting, do you mean you had to drill out the ID of the NPT portion of the fitting? If I used a 5/8 compression x 3/4 NPT fitting, then I shouldn't have to drill to pass a 5/8 heater, correct?

Teeing MLT and BK outlets together

Another question.. I plan to also have a 3 way ball valve downstream of the pump to choose between flow going to cfc/fermenter or to mlt or bk. Can a 3 way L type valve be used to throttle the pump outlet or should I have a 2 port valve on the pump outlet?

Teeing MLT and BK outlets together

Yes, that was my initial plan... what's another 30 bucks anyway!

Teeing MLT and BK outlets together

If it is before chilling the wort is close to boiling at that point, no? , so is sanitation a concern? I will be running into cfc to fermenter so cool wort won't be between bk and mlt.

Teeing MLT and BK outlets together

I'm building a single tier single pump no sparge system, and planning on simply teeing outlets of cooler MLT and BK together before pump suction, and simply selecting which one feeds the pump by whichever vessels outlet valve is open. Anyone see any issues with this approach? A search...

    Barb fitting sizes

Finding out the same thing , the Barbie hair that is very loose is actually from daily deals but I have another one on my Brew Kettle that fits very tight which I got from learn to brew on Amazon , I guess I will stick with the learn to brew Barbs since they fit the 1/2 inch tubing so well

    Barb fitting sizes

So is the 1/2 inch Id tubing supposed to fit very loosely over the 1/2 inch barb? Or did I just get some undersized barbs?

    Barb fitting sizes

So most of the brewers using 1/2 silicone tubing are using 1/2 od tubing? I guess I have been thinking the 3/4 od called 1/2 inch was the typical tubing being used. Thanks for the clarification
